I’d be surprised if he stayed after this. He’s been a great servant and can have his head high, in spite of the lack of trophies. He seems hugely popular especially with the senior players so a big call to change that and says a lot about the character of the manager to assert his authority. Butland has conducted himself superbly on the park and in front of the media since he has arrived. He comes across as a total pro and is eloquent and switched on.
