from the very 1st game we went to as rangers supporters we heard these songs.so if anyone has a grudge about it that was the time to say no more and never return.nobody is forced to become a fan we are there for the club, team, the fact that we sing in support of people who gave their lives for us all to have the freedom to express ourselves is not wrong.the choice is your chance embrace the club and its proud history of do one and let those who do embrace everything about the club freedom to do so :crabflute:

People weren't being arrested, clubs weren't being fined and to be totally honest I had no idea who king billy was when i was 6.

Songs like Here Lies a Soldier and No1 Platoon were written years ago, if anyone were to try and give us shit for supporting terrorism for singing these songs all we'd have to say is go and find out when this song was written because it was written before the terrorist orginisation you claim we support even existed.

He played 4 games for our first team and a few reserve games, his shirt number was 1690.

I remember being at Ibrox for a midweek game with hardly anybody there (pre-Souness) and telling an inquiring American sitting next to me that King Billy was the first ever manager of Rangers back in 1690.

The internet is full of apologists and handwringers, I never hear them telling anyone to stop singing when they are at the match though, with their politically correct views they are secretly trawling the internet and tv and newspapers looking for something to be offended by, nothing to do but sit and be little bitches trying to inflict their stinking socialist views upon the majority, they live in a virtual world of virtual offence just waiting to pounce on anything that does not fit in with their ideology, their offence offends me. :uk:

I say we just apease the handwringers and sit in total silence .

See how they like it then.

Unbelievable some of own fans .

crazy logic - may aswell belt out 'you'll never walk alone' next time i visit ibrox then, going by your logic "well its better than sitting in silence".

and this line gets on my tits everytime i hear at aswell; "Unbelievable some of own fans ." who's to say being a rangers fan means getting on board with all things ulster/loyaist? To me and many othes, sure we have a proud heritage but there's plenty stuff we can't relate to. I'm the 3rd generation of a Rangers supporting family from the south-side, who have followed the Pioneers since the beginning. I have very little, if any, affiliation to Northern Ireland or the troubles. When i hear the scum sing their IRA & republican bile i'd love nothing more than to belt out the famine song to them - but to me it seems liek a hypocrisy within our support that some fans who would sing 'why dont you go home?' to the scum woudl also happily belt out songs about northern ireland for 90 minutes.

I have seen someone trying to get people to stop shouting certain chants at a game 2 seasons ago, and she were forced to leave as she was being bombarded with rolled up papers, bits of pies etc for the game. No one is going to stand up and say anything when they get that kind of aggressive response.
