In my day if a cunt had broken a team mates nose then the cunt would not have walked off the park.

He's not wrong in what he's saying but teams smell our fear, they know we are not up for a battle.

From Wednesday, we need to fight like fuck, retaliate first if need be and show we're not a team of shitebags.

Otherwise we're in for a long hard season of teams smashing fuck out of us and we go hiding and saying it's unfair.

The scum wiill be gutted we didn't make the final.

Fucking Byres road bastards on here, same as on Dingwalls follow follow, where cunts are too afraid to express their true opinions for fear of backlash

this is a fucking embarrassment, another fucking riddy, as if we needed another

we are a rudderless clusterfuck, run by a cabal of shameless placemen, with a manager appointed by said placemen who is so utterly out of his fucking depth that we are becoming an irrelevance

an absolute fucking gut buster of a nightmare.

Thats the crux of the issue for me though, and why Scottish football is so poor. The mentality is stuck in the 1980's. The Motherwell fans were singing "get intae them" before the game even kicked off.

Scottish football is killing itself by making these hammer throwers acceptable, and then moan that we get crap TV deals. We get crap deals because we serve a crap product. Nobody outside Scotland would watch twenty men kick fuck out of each other for 90 minutes and enjoy it. It needs to change, and the neanderthals in charge of the teams won't do it as long as it's acceptable to serve up this dross

This all started with the lego muncher kicking the accies player in the face and getting away with it. Now it's a free for all.

When was an elbow down graded to a yellow anyway.

Also the tackle on Morelos where he was caught round the waist, ref looking straight at it and never even gave a foul it was  beyond belief.

Tip of the iceberg. Today we went toe to toe in basketball game fashion against Motherwell. We may have better player yet we had zero control of the game. Large periods of log ball football which wasn’t working - especially 1st half. When our attacks aren’t working we should be able to retain possession yet Motherwell were causing us all sorts of problems. Not through kicking lumps out us. Pedro has to go

Absolutely right, and it's also why Scottish teams do poorly against foreign teams - you can't get away with those sort of challenges elsewhere in the world.

Its seen as part and parcel of the Scottish game though - from grassroots amateur to professional level. i dont want us to turn into spanish football where the slightest touch is a booking, but there has to be a middle ground and Scottish football hasnt found it.

Andis the reason why countries like Portugal have success in qualifying for the Euros and the World Cup.  Scotland is a football backwater who has not produced a top level player since Kenny Dalgleish.  We used to mix it up with guys who could put it about a bit but that physicality was complemented by the likes of Baxter, Law, Henderson, Johnstone, Johnston but now we only produce mediocrity and hammer throwers.

Referees, haven't produced a decent one since Hugh Dallas

Absolutely, and it seems to be getting worse. German football is still fairly physical and has a level of skill involved, and they are successful at european levels. I'm at the stage where I'm struggling to watch Scottish football its that bad just now. That was fine 20 years ago when I played, but world football has moved on

I can see his point. Take a step back, look and Scottish football can never get better if that's the kind of shit that's allowed. The players wont get away with that in Europe or internationally so there's no point playing that style domestically unless you're the kind of loser club that is happy to stay a loser club producing loser players.  Other nations sit down collectively, look at where they are and where they want to be then make changes together.

Germany, France, Belgium and a number of other countries sit down, agree what's needed and make the changes. In Belgium every senior club must play the same formation and coach the same formation to the youth as the national side. If they change the national sides formation, all the clubs change too. Any manager coming in domestically or for the international team must play this formation. Belgium could select two teams that  you'd stick money on to beat England.

Not a fucking chance this would happen in Scotland.  You'd get whiny bitch manager after whiny bitch manager bitching about how it's their call how to set the team up. Well they'd be worth listening to if they could actually produce players and a team that weren't a European and international embarrassment., but they don't ever come close. You'd think the penny would drop but it seems there's too much parochialism here to do anything radical about it.

We're a big club, who was the last truly great player we produced? The football in this country is an even bigger joke now than it was 20 years ago and it was a fucking joke then, but no one in the game seems able or willing to do anythinjg about it.

the problem is mate that any validity that Alves has  will be seen as sour grapes due to the timing. Wait till you win a game and then say it.

I agree and the time for him to talk about something like this isn't a couple of hours after a defeat, but after a couple of victories but the essence of what he says is true.
