Guess it would be a first step, though. Until they establish themselves as a top 6 team and can attract somebody with a huge reputation. He’s definitely better than Bruce

STEPPS BOY 73,923
I see they are strongly linked with Rodgers now. That would be a great appointment for them. ayrshireranger

Monkey Butler 23,020
My money is on Mourinho as a short term appointment to get them on the right track, then eventually get replaced by a better long term appointment.

BlueSuedeSambas 53,789
I wonder if the new manager will keep any of the current players. I don’t think in the short term it would be the worst move to keep Lascelles, Willock, Saint-Maximim and maybe even Dúbravka & Longstaff as the core/spine of the team and build around them. There’s certainly a few decent players there but the majority of them must know that they are dead men walking over the next 12-24 months. If you’re good enough you get to stay. It’s the same when teams in the championship are fighting for promotion to the premier league, only the better players get to stay

Guest
(Those 3 players are Saint-Maximin, Almiron and Lascelles btw, purely because of what he signifies to the club rather than football ability)
