No chance, 3 of then should have been sold by August 31rst.

Goldson has been allowed to trinkle into this undroppable shithot Centre half. The p.... First sign of not signing a new contract should have seen him sold. He's counting down till January till he signs pre contract, he's not the old skool English centre back we need.

Barasic was a disaster first season, grew a,set second season and has regressed so much that Bassey is a easy pick before him. Turns his back on crosses, I'd have doig from hibs before barasic.

We all know barasic had a move lined up n fell through..  get him to f..k in January. Half hearted poor defensive player.

As said, will be a miracle if we are still in a title race come January, full clearcut needed.

A 4 month blip n repetitive press conferences are boring me now from Gerrard.

Is it going to take us to be 9 points behind come Christmas before people wise the f..k up.

If these fuckin players don’t know how much it all means to us after the celebration scenes they’ve witnessed since winning 55 and are not moved by them and continue with the it’s just another club attitude then they can FUCK OFF ASAP.

He's not though, is he? He'd be moaning like fuck if his pal was dropped every week. If Morelos should be embarrassed at four goals in 11 league games, what does that  say for Boyd's 3 in 30 in the second-tier? Oh of course, Boydy point-blank refuses to accept responsibility for the fact he was a lazy cunt second time around and blames everyone else.

Utterly irrelevant.

What the fuck does Boyd’s scoring record from nineteen-canteen have to do with anything?

You can only criticise a forward if you have first class record of scoring goals and never had a dry spell at a senior level yourself? What pish.

He's clearly a worried Rangers supporter expressing the same frustrations the rest of us feel. The difference is that he has a platform to express those views.

I suspect that might be where your resentment originates.

His commitment to Rangers is clear, consistent and undeniable, something that certainly can’t be said of you.

No, but its a bit rich criticising someone and suggesting they 'don't care' when you wandered about looking like a lost bairn for twelve months playing against the likes of Alloa.

What resentment of Boyd? Why would I be resentful someone has a 'platform to express [their] views when I have a platform I can (and do) express my own views on? Doesn't really make any sense whatsover that one.

Boyd's commitment to Rangers? You mean the Kris Boyd that was going to join Aberdeen instead of us until Aberdeen withdrew their contract offer? Gies peace.

Kris Boyd says Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic’s Rangers standards have plummeted and Morelos should be ’embarrassed’

LOOKS to me like certain players at Rangers have ideas above their station right now.

Individuals who possibly think they’re better than they are.

Name names, Boydy? Okay, I will.

Connor Goldson has yet to sign a new contract with the club after months of negotiations. I’m not privy to those discussions.

But I’d love to know where he thinks he’s going to go if he leaves Rangers.

Is Goldson unhappy with the money he’s being offered compared to the deals some of his team-mates are on?

I have no inside information on it but that would be my guess.

I just see a player who has let his standards drop through the floor since last season. And he’s not the only one.

Borna Barisic didn’t play in the 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Ibrox the other night. But his performances this season have also fallen off a cliff. After the Old Firm victory over celtic, he was out on the pitch and virtually in tears as he waved to the supporters. Like he was saying goodbye.

Could it be he didn’t get the move he was expecting before the transfer window shut? Again, I’m merely throwing that out there.

I just look at the Rangers defence right now and all I see is uncertainty. There’s also the goalkeeper situation. Allan McGregor one week, Jon McLaughlin the next.

Chopping and changing the goalie isn’t doing anyone any good and Steven Gerrard has to see that.

If he’s got concerns about playing McGregor every week then he should play McLaughlin. I just can’t understand why he’s switching between the two for such a specialised position.

When McGregor sits on the bench we hear he’s being rested. Do me a favour. Goalies don’t need rested.

Then there’s Nathan Patterson — what’s going on there?

The young right-back came into the side for the game against Hibs, he played well and the team won. Yet he’s not been seen since.

Instead James Tavernier has played when his levels have dropped substantially.

He’s obviously the club captain and it’s maybe tougher for Gerrard to leave him out.

But Patterson’s progress is being stunted and that’s not doing him or his market value any good. I just look at Rangers right now and something is off.

They’ve fallen behind in EIGHT games!!! this season which is an incredible stat.

It’s putting so much pressure on the strikers, and at the moment they’re unable to cope with that.

Those supposed goalscorers have to do better, mind. Fair play to Tony Ralston for scoring his third league goal of the season for celtic at Easter Road.

But if I was Alfredo Morelos right now I’d be embarrassed. In fact, if I was ANY of the Rangers forwards I’d feel like that, given their lack of goals. Morelos is one strike better off having hit his fourth goal of the campaign against Aberdeen at Ibrox. I’m sorry, for a Rangers No 9 that’s just not good enough. To be around the same tally as the celtic right-back after the first quarter of the season should have Morelos shame-faced. Does he care, though? Is he even bothered? I don’t like asking that but the way he’s playing right now I would have to say I’m not so sure he is.

There are Rangers fans who can’t see past Morelos. Supporters who think ‘Alfie’ or ‘Buff’ can do no wrong. But he’s miles off it. He’s stopped doing everything that was good about his game last season. He’s not the nuisance he was previously and isn’t even getting annoyed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good thing he’s not getting yellow cards in every game and being undisciplined. But as things stand he’s bringing next to nothing to the team. Certainly nowhere near enough.

And here’s a question I’d like someone to answer — what has happened to Jermain Defoe? I know he’s become part of the coaching staff but he’s still registered as a player and I can’t fathom why he’s nowhere to be seen. Okay, he’s 39 now. But this is a proven striker who knows where the back of the net is. And while he’s in shape he’s always going to have the ability to sniff out a goal. That’s what’s been missing.

Fashion Sakala isn’t that player. In fact, I don’t see him as a Rangers player at all, frankly. He’s never going to be good enough to score 20-odd goals a season.

Rangers should be concerned right now about the way things are going. Some people are getting carried away by celtic’s recent wins and talking them up no end. I’m not going to jump on that bandwagon. But there is a title race, there absolutely is. Rangers need to get their finger out.

They’ve blown the lead they had at the top of the table and now have Ange Postecoglou’s side breathing down their necks. They’ve got a tough run of fixtures coming up between now and the festive period and they just need to get back to basics. They need to remember what really won them the title last season. It’s not like Gerrard has ripped everything up and changed things. As I say, he’s got questions to answer — as Rangers manager he has to take his share of the responsibility. But for me, he’s never tried to shy away from that. No, this is on the players. They’re the ones who got all the praise going last season. And they’re the ones who have to prove that it wasn’t a one-off.

What a load of nonsense

Boyd is not a journalist, nor would he ever claim to be. But people listen to his comments. Most agree, but the odd malcontent seems to think that, because  Boyd wasn’t a cross between Usain Bolt, Lionel Messi, John Greig and Robert Lewandowski, then that means he’s not allowed to express an opinion.

I have no idea what the other posters on here do (or have done) in their private lives but they’re entitled to say what they think.

I think one of our greatest ever goalscorers deserves at least the same opportunity.

Nobody is saying Boyd isn't allowed to express an opinion. I'm saying his opinion is worthless on this given his own history of being a lazy cunt who scored fewer goals in a full championship season than Morelos has managed this season so far.

It's a bit like Leigh Griffiths critisicing someone for being a racist.

I don't see anything wrong with what he's said tbh, I say pretty much the same on here every match day thread.  One thing mentioned this week from Sir Walter's players, standards. They knew what was expected and would run through brick walls for him.  Our players set themselves standards last season and none of them have retained that level and none look like they give 100%.

And I've also said the same about Sakala, he's fucking rotten and will never ever be a Rangers No.9.

Gerrard and the players are aware of the criticism, hopefully this and the clatty brigade dropping points today fires us up for the game tomorrow and the start of a good run of form.

Been said all season and before nearly every game right enough but surely at some point we’re going to click again and go on a run.

No surrender ya papish bastards 🤣👊🏼

How so? He contradicts himself when discussing the goalkeepers - here's what he had to say all the way back in May:

Quote

The defensive record that Rangers have this season, a lot of it is down to him. We speak about communication in football and he's a big part of that. We also saw Jon McLaughlin come in and have a good few weeks, so the competition for places has pushed players on and Allan has been one who has benefitted from that as well.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/36628/12236506/kris-boyd-names-his-five-key-players-in-rangers-scottish-premiership-title-win

He says Morelos should be embarrassed at his goal return - yet when his record in the Championship is mentioned, here's him arguing it wasn't his fault:

Quote

"There was no slacking, you couldn't hide and when I went back it was totally different.

"It was still the same people, the same people were still in the building, the same club, the facilities were the same - but the player was different.

"I struggled to adapt. I think that for me relying on my team-mates, as I've done the majority of my career in terms of creating chances and things like that, that wasn't happening.

"There was a difficult period for me there. Off the back of scoring 22 goals for Kilmarnock, I thought 'I'll go here and it'll be easy.'

"But again, the Championship in Scotland is a difficult league and we found that out. Hearts came down, Hibs were there - it was difficult.

"We should have done a lot better than we did, there's no doubt about it."

https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1489233/rangers-kris-boyd-disaster-jose-mourinho-ibrox-crisis/

Even in the article itself, he claims the strikers should be embarrassed at their lack of goals moments after saying the defence is putting them under too much pressure

Quote

Should they be embarrassed because they aren't playing well or are they getting put under too much pressure by the fact we keep falling behind in games?
