The Future

I don't know where the fuck we go from here. Morelos, Kent, Aribo and Kamara are probably our best bets at generating some cash and combined we'll likely get, what, £30-40 million at best and maybe £10 million tops for Helander, Roofe, Barisic, Hagi, Itten and Wright? And even that feels ridiculously generous.

So somewhere between £30-50 million? How much of that will actually go back into the team? Very little I'd imagine. Most of that will be given to the investors in place of the Champions league money we've lost out on yet again.

Awful position to be in and they'll absolutely win the league next season as well.

Yup, people surprised he isnt coming off his line must only be about ten years old, cause i distinctly remember the likes of weir, cuellar etc all having to clear crosses from our 6 yard box cause he's rooted to his line

Correct but he wasn't very good at these things before and he's piss poor at them now. He's a complete liability now. Occasional wonder saves do not make up for regular fuck ups.

I honestly find it incredible people are just waking up to this now. It’s been in the works for the past 9 months. It was critical to win the league this season and it only just seems that people have just realised that the past few weeks

You're completely right. Whilst they threw everything at 10 and became complacent we thought when we stopped it, it was job done and we fell into the exact same trap.

Didn't sell or reinvest and relied on players who think winning one title in their career is acceptable. Maybe that's the case for some mid table, shite English team but not what we expect.

Speaking about this at the game. The best keeper I have ever seen was Goram and he didnt come for crosses but his defenders knew this and cleared the ball.

We tend to concede stupid goals where the ball drops short and when you watch it back we have at least 5 defenders all shiting it to kick it the way they are facing. Our back 4 and GK are a fuckin liability and need to shape up

Massive difference, when goram was here we still lost ridiculous goals, but we had guys like laudrup, gazza, hateley, mccoist etc that could drag us out a hole every game

The future is we're back to square one financial gap wise like it was under Warburton, with a DoF and a scouting department that can't find a single signing good enough to make an impact in four or more windows.

Good fucking luck trusting these cunts for any rebuild.

The OPs post reads like it could have been written in anyone of the previous 3 seasons before last with simply the names changed except Tavs. We have spent 10’s millions on players but the board are rubbish at selling players….at the end of the day the responsibility lies with them. So we are now left with an ageing squad with our most sellable assets about to enter the last 12 months of their contracts. We are good in Europe so we could well get through qualifying still. We probably will not sell anyone come the summer although a few will leave as their contracts are up. These will probably be replaced by some free agents and the odd random player that hasn’t quite made it in the EPL.

The future?....

Kent:  in contract till 2023

Jack, in contract till 2023

Aribo, in contract till 2023

Tav, in contract till 2024

Roofe, in contract till 2024

Barasic, in contract till 2024

Itten, in contract till 2024

Kamara, in contract till 2025

Ofoborh - in contract till 2025 (fuck me :ang:)

Barring loan deals or MAYBE low bids accepted for Kent/Jack/Tav... I doubt we'll see any of the above off the books for next season.

That’s your squad base plus a couple of senior pros (eg Jack, Morelos, Tav) and build from there.

No more signings who will not produce a future sell-on value.

Itten, Roofe, Aribo, Barisic - get what you can and get rid.

The only way forward imo.

Morelos will be gone. Highest bidder, plenty suitors around Europe after his europa league exploits.

GK--McLaughlin, McCrorie

RB--Tavernier, Zukwoski

CB--Helander, Souttar, King

LB--Bassey

CM--Lundstram, Jack, Sands, McCann

AM--Hagi, Lowry

W's--Kent, Wright (I doubt we will get rid of him who would want him)

ST's--Sakala, Weston

I we will still have 1 or 2 out of Barisic, Roofe, Kamara, Aribo or Morelos to add to that.

We need at the very least least

  • A Goalkeeper (a big signing probably isn't wise as we will need to spend cash in other areas first let McCrorie & McLaughlin fight it out)
  • a Left back to challenge Bassey
  • 2 Centre Backs (Souttar & Helander can't be trusted injury wise)
  • 1 Box to Box CM (Young Davis type of player)
  • 1 Creative CM (Aribo type player)
  • A proper right Winger (this should be a big money signing (relatively))
  • A Backup LW for Kent, preferably a youngster that can challenge him.
  • A Star Striker (replacing Alfie will be the most important signing)
  • A Backup Striker

That's at least 10 new players, the chances of our scouting department identifying even 50% of those successfully is extremely remote, especially when the board are unlikely to release any real funds.

With our main striker out for possibly the next two legs at least, that's a big ask, based on the shite back up we have for him.

I wish it was just the 2 legs. He’s out for the season potentially missing the start of next.

And that's the big issue here. We're in the same position as taigs now last summer.

Where we need pretty much every new signing to come in and have an impact right away and we've got to somehow pull this off with less money.

Unreal how badly we fucked this season from were we where last summer.

We have just handed them £40m plus , the future is bleak. Only way we could possibly compete now is win the UEFA , and with the serial losers we have in that defence its never going to happen.

You’re forgetting the fact we’ve got fuck all up front either

That’s the reality.

We need to stop dud loan deals that block a way forward for our own youth players.

Give them a chance and let them grow into a team that will look after each other. We want the best young players queuing up to join our set-up.

We have to trust them to grow and to learn.
