My first instinct was that the team should have been in the guy’s face but then I remembered they’re just kids. I don’t know what the rules are, but I wonder if there’s not some merit in having a much older, “enforcer” player in the team (imagine Lee McCulloch in his mid 30s) to provide some leadership and experience on the pitch but also a bit of protection in situations like this?
