Completely different challenges tbh. Ryan Jack kicked through with considerable force, whereas Maeda's leg is dangled in with the other guy kicking through generating the force. One buckled the ankle and the other catches the shin guard. One is pretty obviously more dangerous than the other having just watched both again.

The leg is not kicking through or stiff anything. Can tell by the way the foot moves during contact kind of gives way a bit. The wee jump is just before the challenge and has no effect or relevance. He's on the ground properly before contact is made.

Agree 100%. It may be on the harsher end of the scale but there is still enough in it with raised boot and late that you can see why the referee has reached the conclusion he has.

Shortly before kick off for the entirely one-sided Champions League fixture, at least 10 Palestinian flags were once again held up. On a miserable night for the Scottish Premiership leaders, Celtic were eventually thumped 6-0 by a vastly superior Atletico side.

Earlier, reports had emerged of tensions between supporters in Madrid – although there was no suggestion clashes were related to Palestinian protests.

Mark O’Donnell, 61, told the Glasgow Times he had been taken to hospital after rival fans stormed a pub in the Barrio of La Latina district.

O’Donnell said he was watching earlier fixtures on television with his two sons, Michael and Christy, when around 20 rival fans entered the premises. One of the attackers is alleged to have asked, “Are you Celtic?” before the group started throwing punches.
