Good money for them, yet again. Oh to buy a guy at £1.5m and sell him for £25m, we’ve just signed a guy for that amount of money who we’re currently training to run. They miss with soooooo many of their transfers but it all pays off when they get one like this. Bassey the only one that comes close to for us, they’ve done it with a few, like I say, covers the volume of misses they have that is every bit as bad as ours.

Bassey?

They have more money than us so can afford to take more punts so law of averages dictates they’ll land a couple, free run at Euro money for years has ensured that.

Couldn’t give less of a fuck about the fee. You can’t attract big names to this league so they can have all the money they like

Hatate, Kyogo and Vickers next

I hope your are right

But O'Reilly and the ones you have mentioned never came on massive fees bar Vickers , who will probably still make them a few quid if they sell him

We need to get in the habit of that

But selling them does weaken they bastards and hopefully they don't get suitable replacements in

Of course we do, we need to start making money from players the way they do, they’re great at it unfortunately.

Doesn’t change the fact no big already established name is coming to Scotland unless they’re near their retirement years. Them having money just means they’ll be able to get their players a bit easier than us and won’t have to worry about losing out by a couple of million. Both clubs will forever just sign players with future potential, unless something drastic changes with tv money and the overall appeal of Scottish football.

O Reilly was their second choice. We did it with a guy we signed for a cross border fee.

Listening to last night's clyde 1 in the gym and you would think these idiots haven't signed anyone.

They just spent nearly £10m on Adam Idah (bumped) and although Schmeichel will be free his wages will be extremely high with bonuses no doubt.

Hopefully they can get rid of the main threats for us. Our board should be looking at Celtics transfer model and looking to replicate it. Our signings have just been god awful over the years.

Our biggest issue was not selling good players at their peak, instead resigning them to longer deals till their form faltered. Even the Bassey and Patterson sales although they brought in a fortune neither would have been on much money in terms of the wage budget.

It weakens them but as it stands we are in too much of a mess to take advantage if they stumble a bit.

Everything is a free hit for them just now - they have zero competition

We should have been all over an o'riley transfer.

In terms of midfield Wilson and Beale have brought in the likes of Bacuna, Ramsey, Sands, Raskin, Cantwell, Dowell and Cifu who in total have all contributed less to Rangers than o'riley has for them at a much greater outlay.

i dont see them spending too much more this season, they have spent around 13 million to stand still with idah and bernardo and the wages for schmeichel, the taigs always get complacent when they think we are down and out or have no challenge (which is probably right this year), they did it with that deila and just won the league when we werent even in it and they done it in their holy grail ten in a row season, they are good at money making with players but it sometimes bites them on the arse for their penny pinching.

We still have a board and fan base that cheerlead spending money on Dessers, Davies, Colak, Lawrence, Propper or even this window guys like McLean.

Not rocket science to see that’s not a model conducive to selling players for 25 million.

Then when we do pull out a good loan with option to sign like Tillman. It turns out it’s not a real option to sign.

And when a good young player develops into a sellable asset. We prefer to keep them and run down their contract and let them leave for nothing.

Bennet’s player trading model. An interesting take on it for sure.

£1.5m for the FC Twente captain? What the fuck is wrong with that?

Was it not similar for Colak too? Fuck all wrong with that price for older players if they contribute

If Dessers scored 20-25+ over the next few seasons nobody would be complaining either. He's always got this mad idea you can just buy a bunch of 22 year olds.
