BouncyBluenose87 1,566
Rangers have been fined by UEFA over "improper conduct" in the Champions League loss against Napoli. Competition chiefs have ordered Rangers to pay €14,000 (£12,300) over the charge. The club was cited over Article 15(4) DR of UEFA regulations. And the decision references "improper conduct of the team". Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men received six yellow cards in the fixture with James Sands sent off for two bookable offences. John Lundstram, James Tavernier, Borna Barisic and Alfredo Morelos were all cautioned in the match alongside Sands' two yellows. Rangers fell to a 3-0 defeat in the match with Matteo Politano, Giacomo Raspadori and Tanguy Ndombele all netting at Ibrox. Whit?! Fined £12k for getting 6 cards in a game of Football (who'd have thought it)! Can someone kindly explain this nonsense please? Is this a new thing? Sounds to me like a case of, UEFA...corrupt to the core. Bad Robot

bluenoz 31,283
James Sands played the ball first, or at least tried to. How does that interpret as improper conduct? We are the first to complain if the players don't at least get stuck in and compete, but when they do, they are punished. Mental. It's because we got 5 separate bookings in a single game. Same rule City got pinged with last season against Atletico. In the Premier League they have a similar rule but the threshold is 6. Kents_Hook 1,498
well the ref was a cunt that night, allowing the italians to foul our players and our players being booked for a first foul was a total joke, i mean that first booking for sands was never a booking in a million years. DrLaudrup 4,839
It’s not a new rule. What is disgraceful is that getting bookings is apparently worth the same fine as what they did having banners against the Royal Family. It deflects very nicely from them, showing up their horrible support for what it is.
