You think fan opinion affects this board?

Yep its why gio is here.

Our support all wanted gio after Gerrard. Board seen that and got him in.

You'll never convince me that we genuinely looked at other candidates or had some long term strategy in place.

Same thing likely happens again. Beale seem the popular choice this time around. Don't be surprised if he's approached.

It's the easy out for the board. "Well we gave you what you wanted"

Beale has a good chance of getting QPR promoted so doubt he’d take it just now.

Knutsen would be my first choice

Sean Dyche would definitely put a bit of fight into the team

Either of those I’d be happy with

Don’t want Beale, glad to see him doing well but we need a totally fresh outlook. He was also the ‘tactical mastermind’ behind some absolute dross either side of 55

Knutsen had a very good season at Bodo but his record outside of that has been terrible. I can see the attraction but it would be a massive gamble.

I think we’d ask the question of Beale but I doubt he’d come here whilst Park is still Chairman given some of the reasons for his & Gerrard’s departure

Think I’d like to see us take a risk like the scum did with the fat man. The only problem is it’s rare to find a foreigner that gets it. You risk getting another Le Guen or a Ronny Deila

This is why I want Rebrov btw:

Seen some decent names mentioned and some not so decent names mentioned.

One I haven't seen is Serhiy Rebrov. He has a fantastic track record with Dynamo Kiev and Ferencvaros domestically and in Europe.

With Dynamo, before last season, he was the only manager to win them any titles (two in a row) since 2009. In the league his win rate was 82% with both seasons combined and lost 1 game in 52. In his first full season he also took Dynamo to the QF of the Europa League and were level on aggregate before a sending off away to Fiorentina. In his second season he took Dynamo to the L16 in the CL getting knocked out by Man City.

All this in a league that is arguably stronger than our own, in effectively a two horse and smashed the competition by winning consitently along with doing extremely well in Europe. From what I can tell it was with what he was given as well.

We've all seen what he's done with Ferencvaros. In his three seasons there he won the league by 13 points, 13 points again and then 20 points. Similar to his time at Dynamo, Ferencvaros had won one league title in 15 years before his arrival.

in Europe he was extremely impressive, like Gerrard. In his first season they were out of Europe before he joined, in his second they missed on the CL after losing to Dinamo Zagreb but got Ferencvaros to their first European group stage in 15 years. In his third and final season we know what he did do to a certain team but more importantly got Ferencvaros to the CL group stages for the first time in their history.

In between Dynamo and Ferencvaros he took a spell in Saudi Arabia, presumably for the pay day, and has now taken a job in the UAE, no doubt for the same reasons. However, his pedigree domestically and in Europe is too good to ignore. I also suspect due to his 4/5 years in England he has a decent grasp of the language along with how British football works.

I can’t remember which poster, but someone previously brought up Dave Vos stepping up from number 2.

It might be a non starter as he is too tainted with the current regime both with the support and the players, however there are interviews with him in which he describes his philosophy as much more attacking and “typically” Dutch, so I doubt very much he is totally agreeing with how Gio is setting the team up and he hadn’t previously worked with Gio so not entirely sure he was 100% a Gio appointment.

Also the board will probably see it as an added bonus that he is already at the club so no need for compensation.

I think it probably has to be Knutsen. He’s given Bodo a sustained period of success domestically which we’ve lacked for over a decade and given them some high points in Europe.

My only concern is we’ve bought a lot of goodwill in Europe until playing in the CL groups, I don’t want us to revert back to happy to compete I want to actually compete and regularly get to last 16/8 etc of Europa League and try and establish ourselves. Knutsens results in Europe are a bit indifferent which i think shows a lack of tactical flexibility

People are kidding themselves if they think Beales coming back under the current regime.

We won’t attract any half decent manager under them.

Had no plan when Gerrard etc. left, and no money spent on the midfield since Kamara for £50,000 again.
