JCDBigBear 10,989
We should just make the most of him while he is here. Can't see us getting him on loan again next season. magic8ball

Wolves were bumped for that transfer fee .The boys good but never worth that amount .Don’t see him having enough about him to be a top EPL player either .He’s not really specialised enough in any forward role .Hes well suited though to playing at one of the big clubs outside the big5 leagues .Just a shame that guys like these get hoovered up and put on huge contracts taking them out the reach of clubs where they would be far better off at . It's definitely an issue - as soon as an EPL club shows interest in a player their value (and wages) just instantly skyrocket as the selling club knows the EPL clubs have silly money to burn. That's one good thing that may come from the FFP/Profit and Sustainability crap, the English clubs are gonna have to start being a bit more prudent with their spending - we've already seen that in the January window, lowest expenditure in years. magic8ball

Benfica,Porto and Ajax haven’t half benefitted over the last few years from clubs spending massive amounts ,Folk will say ,we should also be trying to do the same .Not so easy when we are right next to the EPL where any young player raises eyebrows and scooped up before they get anywhere near a first team . Badger 9,096
The EPL has been a vampire for the leagues that exist around it, be it in the pyramid or geographically. Scotland has the double whammy of competing for TV rights with the same broadcasters as the EPL. The EPL has been a terrible thing for Scottish football. The days of us going out signing the previous seasons Champions League winners first choice goalie, Hollands first choice left back, World Cup winning strikers, etc....... they're long gone. magic8ball, Negri's lovechild and Albion 2

EPL hasn't been great for football in general but certainly hasn't helped the game here but there are other things far more responsible for the state of the game today. The custodians of the game, the SFA, the SFL, SPL, SPFL, chairmen, managers, chief executives, directors of football, youth coaches etc have done far more damage over the past 30/40 years than the EPL done to us. magic8ball, kelvd1873, Goofy The Scot and 1 other

Back when they first signed the big deal with The Championship SPL bosses should have been chapping the door at Sky for a comparable deal .They were showing 2 championship games a week then and 1 SPL .Population size should never have been allowed to be a factor when viewer figures for our games and the tarries games dwarf what they get for many Premier League games never mind championship games . I can remember not long after and it was Walter Smith commenting on it that in the space of a year the SPL lost over 70 pros to lower league teams in England .They were replaced by players from lower league teams in England that were of a lesser quality .Coupled with jumping in a failed Setanta project it caused huge damage to our league that we will probably never recover from . Doku was something like 65 million Euros when Man City bought him. I don't rate him at all in any game I've seen him he's like their version of Sakala. Rennes must be nipping themselves at getting that sum.

BigBearButt 3,919
Might get pelters but he is nowhere near a 30m player. We looked less threatening when he came on as he drifted about and didn't stay in the box. He also stopped his run mid stride for some reason when wright cut the ball back. He said he has been given freedom here for the first time in his career and I'm wondering if he has been given too much freedom and needs to be leashed a wee bit in terms of where to play for the teams benefit and not his own. elliotblu and BlueAvenger
nik2402 1,584
I’d have liked to seen him brought on for McCausland and leave Dessers up front. Play Silva from the left as he drifts anyway and move Cortes right. Worth a try rather than having to see Scott Wright step onto a pitch.
