It's not exclusive to the midden or Ibrox - every single club, from anfield to old trafford does it - attendance is the wrong term, should be seats sold. Due to other life commitments I generally make it to about half the home games each season, so it's never made economical sense to get a season ticket, and it's always been fairly easy to pick up tickets for most home games.
