Wasn't anything special at the time, isn't anything special in the Premier League and would be another Barton/Alves/Senderos/Kranjcar type

Time to move on, no thanks

 he’d be the best midfielder in the league if he came back.

Got a helluva nice Remembrance Day top with his name on it rotting in the closet here, so if he returned at least I could get some more mileage out of it. Quality player but got on ma tits no end with how he left; if he returned he'd have to lead us to the title and pull a dozen rabbits oot his arse to earn forgiveness.

I think an awful lot of people have very selective memories. Even forgetting the fact that he was a deserter (no, he did nothing to get us a fee, that was all down to Southampton) he was routinely slaughtered for going missing in big games, even at his peak.

I really don't get this obsession with ex-players. Move on. Get over it.

Remember people said the same about Joey Barton.

Davis is massively overrated on here. Certainly not a top player and not better than McArthur nevermind miles. Naismith performed at a higher level in the EPL and people slated his ability on here a lot lately yet Davis has been some great Premiership player?

Joey Barton fell out with the manager after a handful of games and was paid off.  His failure to make it at Rangers had nothing to do with his ability.  After he left us he was picked up by an English Premier League team FFS.

Kranjcar would be a much better example of someone with a big reputation who should've done much better here.  Maybe even Alves too.

The whole point of having principles is sticking to them even when it's inconvenient or impractical. Those players deserted our club when we needed them most. Sure, it's harder to reject Davis because - unlike Naismith and Lafferty - he's still a good player, but we should still firmly tell him to get fucked.

I cannot wait for these tedious links to ex players to stop for good. Its an absolute ball ache every single time. I dont want him back. The minute the likes of a Sunderland or some other pish team offer him a far healthier wage than what we could he would be there in a heartbeat anyway. No thanks.

No thanks, I thought he was True Blue but he went off chasing a buck just like the others.

No point trying to imagine how our journey would have been different if a few good players had stayed. He has made plenty of money down south. If he wants back to Scotland then he can do it without the blue pound.

this = barton was shafted cause he had passion & was at odds with the manager, cause he spoke his mind, as he was filthy  with how the gers played that game. wish hed stayed & the manager was shot off then

After the 5-1 game there was obviously an exchange and Warburton booted him out the club because of it.  Barton said on Twitter that Warburton refused to change his philosophy and threw him under the bus.  As we know now, Warburton is a stubborn prick who wont deviate from the 4-3-3 system no matter what.

Can't help but laugh when people say that Davis "insisted" that Southampton pay us a fee or he wouldn't have signed for them

If he was so desperate for us to get a fee he would've done the decent thing and tupe'd over. He didn't give a fuck whether we got paid or not. Southampton gave us a fee to speed the signing process up.

Did Rangers even get the money? Did the SPL not hold it back or something?

He turned up unfit and thought he'd stroll it.

Made a complete tit of himself with his bold predictions, he thought way to much of his own ability and is a prime example of how over rated that shit pit of an English league is.

He was working as a pundit all summer and therefore couldn't participate in preseason.  We knew this when we signed him.  Even when Warburton was trying to force him out he was going over to Dubai participating in training camps there.  It didn't matter because Warburton has spat the dummy out and decided he was to leave so his level of fitness was irrelevant.
