He’s good at the show for the cameras, but his emotion around Walter was genuine I believe. Maybe he felt there was too much ‘heat’ on him with a number in attendance publicly criticising him, or maybe he (or the board) didn’t want a scene if fans turned. Pure speculation unless anyone actually knows anything. Whilst I am expecting Them to win today, a result otherwise would be a massive boot in the danglies after many of Them took a lift from Gerrards departure and the resulting chaos they fantasized would occur.
