Think too many people are focusing on the fact he’s a rich high profile athlete here tbh.

Domestic violence like this is a massive problem across the board, somebodies status, standing or wealth is almost a secondary point.

It’s getting to the root of the bigger issue and educating men that’s it’s not ok from a young age that needs to be tackled, not giving rich people training on how to not behave like a scumbag.

Exactly.

Another young idiot given far too much cash and thinks he is God.

Maybe salary caps are needed.

One thing is clear, young men need educated in how to treat women properly.

There needs to also be a system for domestic abusers. First conviction you go on a domestic abuse rehab programme, breach it or refuse and jail. If you do that and are convicted again straight to jail with name in the papers so people can see you are a danger to partners.

Think it would be very difficult to implement a system like that purely because the chances of somebody being convicted once is already low enough, the chances of somebody being convicted twice is probably close to zero.

The focus needs be on finding a way to educate men in a way that they don’t feel so fragile that when it’s discussed they go on the defensive because they feel like it’s a personal attack on their entire gender and reducing the stigma and fear of reporting that exists among women.

Plenty of cases do get to court and there are convictions.

Education is a must however. Men need to learn from an early age to treat women with decency and respect.

That is bloody sickening, and what a brave girl for going public with it and involving the police.

I wish her well and he surely must do time for that. A real bastard who thinks he can do what he wants because of his money and a footballer.

What a horrible listen that voice note was. The fact she had a recording shows it was likely not the first time that had happened.

Incredible bravery putting that out there.

Maybe they were role playing?
