Winning the title

The failure starts from the pedestrian pace we play from the back, it allows the opposition to get everyone back, then we play in front of their defensive block, with no one willing to have a dig preferring to take the easy square ball option.

It takes us 5 passes to switch play to the other side of the park, everyone takes 2 touches and by this point the opposition have covered where the ball is going.

No one is making runs, it's just slow play with an eventual cross into the box, there's no press anymore either, it's bizarre to watch.

We need to sort it all out soon, we're top just now but we've seen this from us before in recent seasons and know how it ends.

Despite some horrendous performances we are still top of the league. It is frustration that is leading to this doom and gloom outlook that many have. We know we can play much better than we have been this season.

We can still get number 56 and the riches that come with it but we are definitely going to have to do it the hard way.

We are going into November and we are still saying this - I'm beginning to wonder if it's going to improve at all - haven't seen anything to give me hope

Not winning the league is unthinkable tbh, they will then become the most successful team in the league by the end of the decade and will be 3+ years ahead of us again with the money they’ll get, whilst we’ll need to get rid of 4-5 players for fees and another 4-5 to get to fuck.

The monumental fuck up of not winning the league will make these “legends” for winning the league last season absolute no-marks and Gerrard’s apparent upcoming young manager reputation will be severely affected

Teams have sussed this out and are beginning to press our back four, we lost one goal by fucking about last night, it’s a certainty we’ll lose more if we don’t adapt to this opposition tactic. Keeper was fortunate a couple of times last night as well, when shite pass backs put him under pressure.

The consequences of failing to win the title are too much for me to take at the moment so I must take an optimistic stance. Glass half full if you like.

Gerrard can not afford to lose the title this year. Consequences are huge.

Nope. The majority of our big players are miles off it and teams have figured out our system.

Neither goalkeeper is playing as well as last season, our full backs who are our most important players in this system are nowhere near it, Goldson has chucked it, Davis is nowhere near what he was last season, Kamara has been really poor, Hagi and Arbo turn up once every 3 or 4 games. Roofe and Morelos haven't been as good as last season but are still contributing goals at least.

Pretty spot on, especially the bit about our full backs. So much came from that area last season but everyone and their granny's have figured out how to stop that and this management team haven't changed one thing from the last few games to counter that. Worrying.

There are simple glaringly obvious thing's to change which aren't being done. The high press has disappeared, we got so much joy last season from that but it seems we are too cautious now and only 3 players seem to press. Also pushing your full backs right up the park and having a central mid dropping in behind them pushes them back.

Assuming Barisic is carrying a knock and that's why he is in and out but it's time for Patterson to get an extended run.

It‘a giving off massive Smith and McLeish’s last season vibes where you feel like or know that a big change is coming at the end of the season both in terms of who’s in the dugout and who’s on the park making up the starting 11 and everybody is just sort killing time until that time comes.

100% last summer was the time to sell a big player and reinvest that money on 2 or 3 fresh faces. It didn't happen now we seem stale.

Next summer it's best for us all if we have complete change 4 years is long enough for any manager.

Yes, we are head and shoulders above anything else in this league. We are massively out of form and this is as bad as it gets, once we get going we will pull away.

Our performances are showing we are heads and shoulders above everyone else in the league ehhh?

Would be hugely embarrassing if we don't win it.

Last season we where miles above anything in this league. Imo that gap shouldn't be getting closed in 1 season.

Found it on youtube. 👍

Just watched it mate. His header was superb. He should be given a chance, no worse than roofe at the moment, he can finish.

Lowry looks a player as well.

Good point made in the commentary about loaning players out to lower divisions when they could get the same experience playing for the B team. Maybe to do with salary.
