Agreed. Stop the cross coming in should always be the priority. Once it's in the six yard box at pace anything can happen. Bassey had a decent enough game with his own goal being unfortunate.

He had a few poor moments. I think that is to be expected. He's still young and he's very much learning the role on the job in tough games, learning his positioning, his angles, where he should be. It's a tough transition, even to move in one position.

Also, he won't be the first Rangers centre half to be caught out at Tynecastle at times. Really tough venue to go to. Hearts always create chances at Tynecastle. The commitment, and some last ditch tackling and interceptions from all was pleasing to see though.

However, he's shown a lot of promise of late.

Hearts targetted him all game and almost got joy, if not for McGregor. I thought there was plenty of times he defended brilliantly though, being in the right place at the right time. 

The almost own goal was down to Barisic letting the cunt get the cross in.

He was poor today but as usual you can’t fault his commitment etc. and he is playing out of position with limited experience. Prefer him at full back which is his position and overall he has done well in filling in at centre back but the sooner we get Helander, Balogun and Katic  back the better. Not sure why we signed Simpson on a long contract if we are never going to play him.A bit like Barker . I hope both these lads get a move and first team football elsewhere.

Barasic and our sitting off as a team we got lucky today, twi e they hit the bar.

If we are going to sit in compact we need to been ontop of them especially out wide.

Bassey is still learning how to be a CB. I will cut him some slack for that. It is a steep learning curve, but he has held his own considering the circumstances.

A fit Helander will of course be first choice. He is our best CB imo.

Bassey will be a reliable backup for both left back and centre back positions when injuries/suspensions occur.

Adaptable young player who is willing to learn. What's not to like?

He was okish. He really struggled with Boyce in the first half. Managed himself better in the second but he has to stop getting caught flat footed and/or in positions where he’s culpable to leaving a leg out in the box, as seen in the last 2 games it can be costly or lucky.

He’s done well as cover but he’s obviously not fully comfortable there which is understandable. Need Balogun back and hopefully Helander sooner than later
