We British are masters at these occasions and it was truly such a magnificent send off for such an outstanding woman, our dear late Queen.

So many moments that stood out but it really was the whole thing put together in such an impeccable way that swells your heart with pride.

When Kirsty was speaking to the Major General, who said the Queen was speaking to a soldier who had his 2 legs and an arm blown off, and she asked him, what are you going to do now, and his response was am not sure Ma,am, but as I long as I can help those less fortunate than myself then I'll be happy, and he seen the Queen's eyes fill with tears.

Saw this in the bbc pictures that defined the day, thought it really hit home what The Queen means to us and how her message of family, love, togetherness, unity and community for the greater good is all represented in this one image.

Didn’t think I’d ever watch it all, but watched every minute, I can’t say I enjoyed it because it was hard at times seeing a woman I respected so much on her final  journey.  However, I held it together impressed by the finesse, the organisation, the pageantry, the sheer scale of work involved , but then….
 

..the final few moments, I was in bits, I couldn’t hold it in anymore, then as the lone piper turned and the pipes slowly silenced all I could see in my heart and in my emotions was an angel leaving this earth for the final time. 
 

Goodbye ma’am and thank you, I got a feeling those who you love who have already passed are waiting with loving arms.

Can I just say to everyone on this thread who has contributed since the Queen’s sad passing, thank you. It has been uplifting reading your comments, viewing photos and everything else. It has been nice to see everything that’s been shared during a time which I think has affected us all a lot more than we ever thought (or would ever have admitted). I’ve personally been more emotional than I ever thought I would. 

I am so proud of our country today, but I’m also proud of our fans and how we’ve commemorated her passing including you all on here. You’ve all been bloody brilliant. 

God Save The King and may our Queen rest in eternal peace.

What an impeccable send off that was today. It began with her leaving Westminster Hall accompanied by the pipe band which was spine tingling to watch and listen to, something which The Queen herself requested and it didn’t half do her justice. One thing that has really come through in the past 10 days is Her Majesty’s love for Scotland and how close it was to get heart, none more so than spending her dying days in Balmoral.

A final note, the families of those 8 young lads carrying the Queen should be very proud of them tonight. What a job they did, I hope they never have to buy a pint again. The eyes of the entire world on them and they were perfect from start to finish. I’ve never met them and I couldn’t be prouder of them. Outstanding

Everything was perfect from leaving Balmoral to her final resting place in Windsor  Castle. Have to admit the lone piper walking away brought a tear to my eye .Rest In Peace your Majesty.

Saw some guy on the TV last night saying HM said to him at Windsor, "I honestly don't understand why someone thought building a castle so close to a busy international airport was a good idea."

Not ashamed to say as well as watching the whole funeral from Westminster to Windsor,  I then watched the highlight show until 10 then the news. A woman I met in the queue for St Giles messaged and we shared our memories from last Monday and also our thoughts on today. Even in death the Queen was uniting total strangers

This was a day to lay our great Queen to rest but being an auld 'salt' I was disappointed wi the Naval contingent.Individuals wi their caps and cap tallies not squared off and trews not properly gatered.These things should have been picked up early on when they first fell in.

Watch the funeral of the Queens father George VI and you'll see the difference.

I've got to say when those boys took the coffin and started up the stairs at the end by arse was making buttons but they did their job flawlessly and will rightly tell their grandkids about today.
