The problem is we can't rely rely on souttar to be a starter due to his injury history. I can't see him ever being anything but a 3rd choice. mitre_mouldmaster 21,509
Really like the look of that American centre half from Arsenal. That guy, Goldson, Souttar and King would be ideal as options for next year. 6superbarry6 and Malkytfp1

I’d get King out on loan. Malkytfp1

GersInCanada 7,775
I was wrong about Soutter. He is a much better player than I gave him credit for. 6superbarry6 and esquire8

Both of them need a good 30-40 game season under their belts then they’ll be able to contribute far more. Showed today that he is capable of filling Goldson's boots. He marshallad young King well and was good going forwards too. Our defence was an absoulute shambles without goldson last season. Souttar might be the man to fill the void. HG5 and gmcf

BlueSuedeSambas 53,789
Talented player but yet another player who falls under the “if he can stay fit category”, and that means we will probably never be able to fully rely on him or build the defence around him. scottyscott1963 18,328
Was dissapointed when we signed him, knowing his injury woes. Read somewhere a while back the club had his injury cause operated on,and it was a success. Really looked the part yesterday and could be a brilliant signing for our future. Smile 26,610
Played well yesterday and his passing was excellent as well, much more variation than Goldson and didn't struggle against the piss poor Nisbet like Goldson has in the past. esquire8 42,756
Will say him and King dealing with crosses and passes through first time rather than letting them go through and letting someone else deal with it ala Goldson and Davies was very noticeable. Solid no-nonsense defending and productive with the ball. HG5

nik2402 1,319
Really like him. Always have. Can’t be fooled into trusting him to being first choice next season though. He’s a great option to have as 3rd or 4th choice centre half going into next season and if he’s playing like he has last few weeks then he will force his way in. On a side note seen a few saying say king done well. He’s not ready to be considered a first team centre half for me. Needs a good year out on loan see how he does. Gives me the fear at times on the ball and switches off too easily when marking. I was hoping after the learning curve he went through at the start of the season he’d have looked improved yesterday. Didn’t see anything to suggest that. Hope he can kick on. graeme_4

A season long loan sounds like the best option to me.
Badger 8,662
He needs to stay fit. There is a lot to like about him as a player. A bit of a throwback CB, but he can play a bit too. If you could depend on him to play 45 games a season he'd be our main CB for the next 7-8yrs. HG5 and beararse
