Get the two "6s" to fuck, it's done now, too much useless possession. Lammers and Sima's starting position needs to be much wider then come inside to make the oppositions full/wing backs actually have to make a decision with two Rangers full backs advancing.

Depending on which side the ball is on Cifu/Cantwell should be looking to link up with the 10 and the full back to create overloads and one twos down the wing to get themselves or the full backs to the byline.

On the other side the full back should be stuck the byline, Raskin being the player switching the ball to the other side with the 8 or 10 looking to be an extra passing option with the other looking to join the striker in the box.

Danilo also has the ability to drop deep and drag players out of position

We need to be moving and stretching teams and making the opposition players make decisions. Kilmarnock's midfield or defence had to think much last night.

 

Why have the wide players come inside? Just stifles the space for the 2 middle players to both run into and play passes through

To create overloads. We have wide players who need to play inside and full backs who play outside. We need to utilise what we have. I'd be wanting Sima and Lammers to come into the half spaces not right into the centre of the park like yesterday - the most common position map had Sima right behind Dessers

Looking at that squad the only alternative I can see if we want out and out wide players who stay there is Matondo on the left and Sima on the right.

Beale has put all his eggs in one basket with Tav and Borna being our width, which is fine if they are in 20/21 form but they aren't, if he wants them to be an attacking force he needs to remove the requirement to get back and from the back line and the only way that happens is if we go to a back 3 (not Lundstram). This is something he should have done during friendlies.

Players in that position need to be able to play wide and in the ‘inside ten’

We currently only have (good) options that can play inside.

Dowell has nice ball control and a few flicks. Hagi does that with his eyes closed.

Hagi didn't make my team for Wednesday, but neither did Dowell. My point is, Dowell is no better than what we already had.

If Lawrence comes back strong, it's a moot point because he will claim the spot.

As for Hagi, if he can't get on ahead of Jack when we are chasing a game, then he may as well put in a transfer request unless it was tactical due to the playing surface.
