Not every signing will work but if you’re happy with them bringing in £20 million a season then so be it.

CL money, O Reilly money and Frimpong money will likely bring in 90 million this season.

But aye, Iwata, yang and Kobayashi.

What I'm saying is after Postecoglu brought in the first batch of players, guys he no doubt knew all about and had been in his mind as potential signings. They signed 4 players in that first batch, Kyogo, Maeda, Iduguchi and Hatate.

Since then Oh, Iwata, Kobayashi, Yang and Kwon have came in from the far east, and none of them have done much.

Basically they've signed 9 guys from the far east at £14m spend - and 3/9 have been a success.

Their scouring the globe has plenty of duds signed too. They are better at unearthing gems and tbh looking through Wiki - Postecoglu had a generally good transfer record. However Rodgers this year.....

Holm £2.5m

Tilio £1.5m

Yang £2.1m

Nawrocki £4.3m

Lagerbeilke £3.0m

Kuhn £2.8m

Guts of £17m on guys who've done little. Who even is Tilio?

Seems like a waste of money to be honest.

Have to disagree.

Boys only in the door and in from a foreign country and new style of play. He is genuinely surrounded by absolute pish and players who are looking at new houses, new clubs and more money and reeking attitudes. Soon as Diomande has new and determined players around him it will improve him because the boy shows glimpses of absolute magic sometimes with his turning and control of the ball and his eye for a pass. Right now he seems a bit lightweight and needs to gain a bit more muscle

Think hes still trying to get used to the tempo of our game just now. Wants too much time on the ball which he won't get and he's getting caught out. Still think he will come good but does tend to drift out of matches for long periods which is a concern.

The amount of times I saw him create space for himself, hands out wanting the ball and our players never looked for him then ended up punting it long. Tav especially.

Will look far better with better players around him. Playing in the middle with Lundstram and Lawrence while having Tav and Barisic on the wings must be frustrating as fuck.

Athletico Madrid aren't bidding for someone because the Scottish press say they're a good player 😂😂

They didn’t bid for him at all though. Another phantom bid like Brighton and Chelsea coming in for Dembele and Arsenal wanting Eduoard.

Amazingly their recruitment last summer far worse than ours yet we still can’t take advantage of that.

We need to have a massive slice of luck they do something similar in the summer, particularly if O’Riley moves on.

Weird how absolutely nobody connected with Atletico put it out there that there was no bid.

Not seen much from Diomande in two games against them to suggest he is the answer but he deserves a bit of time and patience, let's see who he plays alongside next season before we really judge him

Probably didn’t feel the need to given they were literally in the process of signing another midfielder for £18m when this story came out.

The first few games he looked good when the team was playing with confidence. Since our collective arses collapsed he’s looked the same as the rest of them. Butland aside every player’s form dropped massively once the pressure started to grow. He’ll definitely be part of the plans for next year given the outlay on him and hopefully we can see the best of him if he has players in the middle with him that have more in the tank. The fitness and speed of our players in midfield was telling yesterday.

If a bid did come in from Athletico, i doubt they are knocking back circa £20m for a player they signed for (i think) a compensation fee.

They tend to move players far better than we do.

Messi demanded Dembele be signed as a condition of signing a new contract with Barca I’m sure
