Candeias POTY snub

Rangers senior player POTY snub is baffling after dazzling season at Ibrox

Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has failed to make the four-man shortlist for PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year – and it is a baffling snub for one of the best players in the country this season.

Candeias was beaten by celtic pair Scott Brown and James Forrest, Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd and Hibernian midfielder John McGinn in the list released by the Scottish players’ union on their official Twitter account on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old senior player has been in dazzling form for the Gers this season with six goals and ten assists – more assists than any other player in the league – to his name in 32 Scottish Premiership appearances in his debut campaign with the Ibrox giants.

Candeias’ performances for the Light Blues recently saw him handed a one-year extension to his contract that will see him remain at Ibrox now until the summer of 2020.

It isn’t just the winger’s own performances that should see him nominated but the way that he has helped James Tavernier have arguably his most impressive season of his career to date and build up a really impressive partnership down the right flank with Candeias.

There will always be talking points raised by a shortlist for these type of awards when someone misses out when they have had a fantastic season – Hearts’ Christophe Berra can have a similar complaint as Candeias – but snubbing the Rangers winger after the season he has had for the Gers is absolutely baffling.

May be not player of the year but should've got into the top 4. Fucking biased as fuck in this country!!:notallowed:

Boyd, Brown and McGinn for various reasons deserve to be on there but Forrest ahead of Candaies is baffling - especially when you look at his stats and in an under-performing team.

Forrest is such an underwhelming player and is nowhere near what he is made out to be.

Only ever seen Forrest play against us and for Scotland and I've been underwhelmed by the hype.

Not a huge fan of stats but Candeias's have been impressive this year and deserves to be on it.

Should be 6 players on it anyway.

Rangers would probably need to win every game this season even to be quoted for one of these

It has been that way for years

Then theres the sportswiters ??

Is it even worth these fucking beggar loving scumbags bigging up the suspense

The vote is more certain than the beggars getting a penalty from Craigy buoy Thompson
