Roofe is an atrocious footballer. Can't believe we spunked the best part of £10m on him, Bacuna and Itten.

That's just a ridiculous view, my wife's cousin is from Leeds and is a massive Leeds fan and told me when he signed he's a cracking forward if he can stay fit, his ability is not in question, it's his time on the treatment table thats the problem.

He was very, very lucky with Bassey (even a broken clock is right twice a day) and, if you exclude that single player, we’re lucky to break even in transfer deals.

The other consideration, which these figures don’t show, is the figure for salaries for duds and/or wasters.

No idea what the total wage bill would be for Zukowski, Yilmaz, Helander, Roofe, Hagi, Ofoborh, Ramsey, Diallo, Simpson, Bacuna and Souttar (to date) but it would just be even more depressing.

We were delighted to get Wilson at the time and his reputation was strong but, by fuck, he’s been like a reverse Midas, turning gold into shite.

Very lucky with Bassey? You could see he had all the attributes to possibly become a player from Day 1.

Jordan rossiter right off the bat

Aye I mean you could say it was lucky they turned out good cause for every Bassey you've got a Rossiter, Ashikodi and Dodoo. Obviously not that every young signing is a lucky signing.

10 million was spent across those 3 players roughly.

It's poor business.

4.5m Roofe 2.7m Itten 0 Bacuna with some sell on deal that wasn’t reported by either us or Huddersfield.

We sold Itten for 1.5m so net spend is 6m.

Itten never worked out, Bacuna was a shite signing, Roofe signing is tricky to judge as he has ability but can’t get fit to a robust level, he has contributed though.

Overall on those 3 players would probably agree it’s poor business.
