It is clear they are going to make an official approach but i'm genuinely not sure if it is a cert, although there is a lot of media noise. If he wants the Liverpool job i'm not sure taking a job at Villa is the way to do it. For example if he stays with us, although managing in a smaller league with less resources if we win the league this year he manages a CL football club. With Villa yes he will have more money, but he will have no European football at all, not even Europa League. Aside from perhaps testing himself at the lower end of a better league he is stepping down a level in terms of international exposure. For all he is the prodigal son, there is no way Liverpool will look at someone kicking around the lower end of the league with minimal European experience. Look at what Klopp did prior to coming - he was one of the most highly-rated managers in European football. Equally there are lots on here wishing all sorts on him. There is no point being bitter if he leaves. At the end of the day nobody is bigger than us. He isn't a fan. He's not one of us. He's an employee. He has done well, improved our standards and brought the league home for which I am thankful. The key thing the club can do if he goes is ensure they make an ambitious appointment, not some also ran.
