Tav as right winger

Tav has been knocked from pillar to post as a right back , by fans, pundits and on the pitch at times. At the current time he is our main goal threat and also captain. We need a better right back defensively I think it’s clear to see. I know it’s been debated before but why on earth can he not be pushed forward to right wing? I know he’s played right back his whole Rangers career and it’s not that straight forward, but why not give it a try since we don’t have another right winger in the building who is anywhere near a threat like Tav can be going forward? Given we have nothing to play for now then it’s got to be an option. It’s been a problem position for us for many many years and it’s got to be worth a try surely. Wright, Hagi, Sakala just nowhere near good enough.

Tried it once and it failed.

Less effective if you have him further forward as a starting position.

I do remember it but can’t recall who was playing behind him, Patterson? We have a few games left and maybe worth a go for more than a game, if that’s what it was. I know it won’t happen, just trying to desperately think of how to use the players who we have left most effectively

Watched Liverpool/Leeds last week and Alexander-Arnold was playing as a number 6 and it got me thinking if Tav could play there, he's a good footballer and is a brilliant dead ball specialist so he has to be in the team but there's no getting away from the fact he's a poor fullback defensively, great going forward but you can go all the way back to the Scottish Cup final in his first season right through to yesterday and his lack of awareness has cost us so many big games.

Whether he could play at CM I'm not sure but it's something I'd like to see Beale explore, we need a fullback we can rely on defensively.

Play him as a wingback and get the 3 CBs in for games like yesterday, Goldson Souttar Davies, and that cross is headed away yesterday.

Also more threat at set pieces with 3 CBs and more height defending corners when your GK is stuck to his line.

Why play 3 CBs when for 34  domestic games teams sit back and defend against us and the other 4 games the scum play with one central striker and two wingers who hug the touchline? Maybe just ask the holding midfielders to do their job and slot in  when the full backs go forward.

His goals are valuable no doubt but the rest of the team seem to hide behind it, take yesterday for instance, he came closest out of everyone, that can't be right that the fullback is the most dangerous player, also his defending absolutely kills us and we'll never be defensively solid with him in the team.

We tried it before and it was a disaster. We need a right winger (and a left, for that matter) with pace, that can actually beat a man and is technically good with the ball at their feet. Tav is none of those things.
