He has no pace for playing out wide, he has no defensive attributes to play in the middle (nor an engine). I think he is a luxury in Scotland. If you’re not prepared to try to go past a Morton defender on the right when he’s left a huge space for you, you’re probably not ready for PSV. And that’s what matters. It doesn’t matter if he’s a winger or central - if you’re left a huge gap by a Morton defender you take it. You don’t shite out of it, cut inside and go nowhere. It was a poor decision from him - possibly demonstrating a lack of confidence from a lack of game time, tbf. However, if he wants to get into the first 11 he has to demonstrate he’s better than those already there - I don’t think he’s done that. Hagi has probably played 100+ games for us and already flattered to deceive before he missed over a year with a career changing injury.
