Popular Post Loyal72 11,051
Philippe Clement pleads with Rangers Subway Loyal to stop leaving Ibrox early Clement knows it isn't easy for everyone to stay until 90 minutes but wants to see Ibrox packed to the rafters at the full-time whistle Philippe Clement last night urged the Subway Loyal to stay in their seats and help roar Rangers to Premiership glory. The Ibrox boss made special mention of Gers’ passionate travelling support on Wednesday night as he praised the part they played in a vital away win at Kilmarnock. But the big Belgian has been left puzzled in recent weeks by the sight of thousands of fans heading for an early exit while his side are still in action at Ibrox. With the possibility that this year’s title race could come down to goal difference, Clement is acutely aware that every minute counts in the battle to finish ahead of Celtic. And he wants the Ibrox faithful to stay to the end of today’s clash against Motherwell and help ensure his team finishes as strongly as they can. He said: “It could (come down to goal difference). So every second of help, helps. I hope that people can stay longer because the players are really wanting to show respect to everybody who was supporting them, that’s why they go around the stadium and they go to every corner (to applaud the fans). But I know also that people have their private lives and it’s not an easy thing with all the traffic and buses leaving. “People come from all over Scotland and even other countries to watch the games. A few months ago we had a meeting about a lot of things in the club and one of the guys raised the question that if there was a possibility to change something with how the busses are parked because they came from Northern Ireland with the bus and they had to leave late so it was difficult to get on time on the boat. “I know and I understand that there are a lot of other issues. They are not all living around the corner and can sit and wait. But for sure, the players want to show everybody the respect that they deserve for the way they are behind the team. “And it’s a major thing, you saw after the last game the interaction between players and fans is now where I want it to be. It would be better if they stayed longer because the players are really hungry to give everybody the respect they deserve.” Gers had to dig deep at Rugby Park after falling behind to Derek McInnes’ high-flying Killie side. But he was delighted to see the fans contribute to a hugely significant win in Ayrshire. He said: “I’m really happy about that, to see that. It gives me a lot of energy. “This club is in a really good place and it’s now we have been going up, up, up. It’s impossible to win all the games, we are going to try but it’s also important that it stays that way when we one moment reach this bump on the road to stay that way. “I have the feeling now that everybody in the club - players, fans, everybody - is ready for that and they stick together because there is a lot of love from both sides.” But Clement - who will be without winger Oscar Cortez for today’s Well clash - wants the season-ticket holders at Ibrox to realise how lucky they are to be in a position to cheer his side on. “Yes because a lot of people want to be there and to be in their place,” he said. “I come from a club in Brugge where you also have this good connection between players and fans in the good moments. And it gives you so much strength. When I was a player, every time we had a corner all the fans behind the goal sang a song for me because I scored a lot of goals from corners with headers. “It gave me so much energy so I recognise how much that gives to players. Fans don’t realise that always, how much that gives. Here, we have it with 51,000, that’s amazing. And it’s more than just 51,000 because I’ve met now a lot of people on the street who have difficulty getting a ticket to come and watch the games but they are really diehard fans.” -Daily Record. Popular Post ElBufalo20 7,894
In all honesty the subway loyal thing is a myth these days the majority that leave early are busses and cars that want to beat the traffic. The automatic thing for people to leave bang on 80 mins is embarrassing. Sadly it’s now just become a trend at Ibrox. I like that he's trying to address it tbf, he's basically asking that the fans give as much as he's asking the team to give. Every win, from now until the end, there should be people there cheering and pushing the team on. LaudrupsPatrickBoots 13,510
Each to their own. I don’t see it ever changing tbh. If someone’s circumstances mean having to leave 5-10 mins early I can understand but I don’t see the point in going in the first place if you’re going to leave with 20 mins to go. Referring more to midweek games with this also as there’s long journeys home, work in the morning etc to consider but I don’t really see any reason the vast majority of people can’t stay until the end of a weekend game. Blacky Bear 868
I do understand those who have too. We all owe this guy to do what we can. He has turned average sometimes below average into a fine tuned juggernaut with mostly everything you could ask for. I personally this season in particular have been entering late and leaving early due to an injury and poor mobility. But point taken, need to scrape me off the slab in front of my seat from now on in. Albion and Negri's lovechild
Popular Post SPWF 8,234
There’s absolutely no danger that the number of people who leave early all have something to do that’s so pressing that they have to leave that early. Every week. It’s shameful how empty Ibrox gets from 75 minutes onwards. KeyserSoze, Ivybank, GA1972 and 4 others
.Williamson. 82,242
There’s not enough buses leave from here for Ibrox to look how it starts to look from 70 odd mins. It’s actually at a stage now the traffic that you’d get at full time has just started earlier Don’t really care what people decide to do personally but it’ll be interesting to see what happens now that a manager everyone likes has asked people to stay. You’d feel a bit watched this afternoon if you got up early after this interview JackAlex93 and SPWF
Popular Post KeyserSoze 14,545
lots of folk round me leave on 80. Same lot, now I don’t know why they leave but my guess is they want home early. Is it because they are starving? Or are missing their loved ones or need a jobby. I will never understand why ten minutes makes any sort of sense. while I’m at it 5/10 mins before half time the starving brigade start. Got to get their pies or else they will starve to death. Here’s me though standing up sitting down standing up sitting down as greedy bastards file past for a pie - it’s infuriating so - if you are a greedy bastard and miss your loved ones or need a jobby or are still starving- you actually could only be watching the game for 70mins - imagine waiting all week to see the famous then only being arsed to watch some of the game Bizarre Negri's lovechild, fergiebubs, gmcf and 7 others 8

stuart1994 4,303
I stay to full time every game but can understand some people needing to leave early, maybe for the sake of ferries and such. But there’s probably people who leave every week who could stay and it’s just became a part of their routine of going to games.

Southsider 300
There's a guy near me that never stays till the end. Often leaves as early as 70mins. I've seen him leave at half time when we were drawing. I get that it's his money but he's local and I don't really understand it. I've never left a match early since I went to my first game in 1979 and never will, unless on a stretcher
