We really need more info on this.  The club statement is brief to say the least.   Why did work commence before essential materials were either on-site or stored nearby?   Trusting a supplier's promises of getting a delivery from abroad is extremely naive, a bit like "honest, the cheque's in the post".    Who was responsible?  Is there a penalty clause?  Was there a contingency plan?   What is the revised programme date?  Is there any other problem with the work?

The Fan Advisory Board  should be demanding answers on our behalf.

You'll hear very little on any of those questions from the club as the answer is no or no cunt...

We've pinned our hopes on securing the material from abroad, it fell flat on its face weeks ago and they kept their trap shut until they had something half positive (Barron) to announce on the same day, simple as that. The Copland stand has had no actual work done to it for about 2/3 weeks now, its been sitting in the same state, they've just waited to announce it now closer to the 'expected delivery' date.

They'll be hoping we get Murrayfield as the extra 20,000 tickets we'll likely sell (because we as fans bend over for these dicks) will cover some of the cost & anybody who can't make it out to Edinburgh will be told tough shit

If only there was a high-profile metal dealer connected with the club who we could get this shit from.

I know one who built training ground, 2 x corners with screens screens, extended Govan and a state of the art main stand extension. Minimum fuss too.

They need to keep it brief, if there is a potential dispute with another party they can’t be airing it in the public domain.

Be genuinely surprised if this ever happens again now that Bisgrove is gone.

The fact they were telling media partners a few days before that everything was fine, to then release a brief statement saying Ibrox won’t be playable for start of season, stinks…..

Its what they aren’t telling us that is worrying me.

Bennett should of addressed the Rangers fans on Rangers TV way before the media got a hold of the story. There would of been much more respect for him and the situation for fronting up.

They are almost in hiding at the moment!

It is normal to start construction projects with the material deliveries timed for when they are require. No project would ever get all the materials on site, or close by, before commencing.

A soap dodgers blogger has stated if asbestos is found a lawyer should start a class action for those who sit in the Copland 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

We probably all go into buildings with asbestos in them every single week.

Another absolute soap dodgers spastic. It was banned around 2000 and it's not illegal to have asbestos In your building that predates this 🤣🤣

Considering the stand was built in the early 80s and asbestos was already banned as a building material this is just people stirring it.

Was banned 1999

My mistake, just seen that. I am shocked by that. My recollection was issues with asbestos were known long before that and therefore assumed ban would have been much earlier.

The primary thing is to get the materials here and get the project completed so the stand can open and we are back playing at Ibrox.

During the delayed period I am quite sure the Board will be seeking legal advice to see if there are grounds to pursue a consultant/contractor/supplier that has breached the contract, if not then it’s about lessons learned and implemented for the next stage of the development.

What you don’t do is go blaming everyone and putting everyone on notice that damages are being levied, construction delays are rarely straightforward.

Asbestos in a building built in the 70s? Amazing research there by the Catholic crusaders. Must have taken them weeks to solve that mystery. On next weeks episode they look to see if the first Ibrox park opened in 1899 was coloured with lead paint. Their desire for class action immediately screams irony but by this point I think we are well past that stage of self realisation amongst the hoards

It’s been a shit show because of the dodgy fucking contracts he handed out

Loads of clubs where using the same contracts but we where the ones that paid for it. Funny that

Also guarantee Murray wouldn't have accepted second best
