The Dundee United game at the start of the season was the first, and still only, league game we’ve lost with Helander in the side. If anything the guy’s underrated.

Agreed, but if you tell his agent to find him a club last summer and advise we’re willing to accept a lower valuation in that region, you’d likely have got a few EFL/EPL sides looking at it. 
 

The £8+million figure we weren’t going to achieve in a deflated market. But £4million would still have given us the funds to find a younger replacement

There are many ways you can still put him in the shop window and tell his agent to find him options of no club came forward with a bid and you were looking to sell. Clubs aren't mind readers.

The club decided to hold on and think he would lead us to 56 despite having this over his head. Foregoing a transfer fee in favour of the £30-40m windfall next season. A big risk but one they went with. 

This season the board put everything on black and hope it doesn't fall into red.

Goldson had a very good season last season. Playing in a very frugal defence. He was at the heart of our invincible season. 

It is absolutely clear that he wants to go either January or in the summer (not signing a contract). This has affected his game- which tbh is poor as it shows that when his head is elsewhere he is pish. 
a true pro would still be putting in 100% even if his future is elsewhere.

Mentioning the benfica game was just a bit of banter. There are other games Helander has looked poor. But you know that.

It's easy to pick away at Goldson just now as it was when it was Tav as it was when it was Kent and whoever the latest hunt needs to be. You will mention times Goldson has made a cunt of it, and of course he has you're right but you also need to acknowledge how colossal he was during last season when he was the main protagonist in a defence which literally broke records and won us a title. He was constantly mentioned as our player of the season.

Goldson has played more than double the amount of games than Helander has since since he signed which for me shows his importance

I think there's a high chance Katic is recalled but I really don't think he is the answer other than a squad player. I expect the new management team is prioritising the centre half roll in January when/if we sell a couple of players to fund it.

That would all be fair comment if he was playing well during his loan spell, but apparently he isn’t.

The contract one is strange .I remember when Kamara extended Andy Halliday was in SSB and Goldson was mentioned.As far as he was concerned he didn’t see extending his contract as being an issue at the time .According to Halliday,Goldson and his family are happy and settled here .
