What formation would you like to see us play?

Id like to see us use a 352 like Walters early/mid 90s sides. 3 decent center halves and 2 wing backs bombing up and down the wings like Davie Robertson used to do. I feel when lundstrum dropped into defence in the EL last season we played some decent football.

That formation change in 1994 from a 442 was literally set up to utilise Laudrup and then in 1995 Gascoigne to do whatever they wanted to do. When Gascoigne came we basically sacrificed another attacker to get him in the team. It was very much based off Italian tactics from the time that relied on the 10 to be the creative force for the side.

We can't rely on a system like that now because we don't have a world class player to play in that role. 

Playing what is effectively 5 at the back now in Scotland would be a waste of resources.

I think having Davies Goldson and king in a back 3 would do us well. An in form Tav and barasic/yilmaz on the wings could create more if they know there is cover behind them.

I’d like something along the lines of a 3-4-1-2, as it would mean we have to try to play through teams more rather than crossing from our side…see below (when everyone’s fit).
