Balogun new deal

Recommended Posts

I'm in. He comes across as a team player and good in the dressing room. He's never a liability when he plays and neither was Weir at his age and he looks after himself, although the injuries are creeping up.

I had him as the 3rd best player on Saturday after Diomande & Sterling.

We need experience - as long as we're signing young players with potential and not 30 somethings then happy to have Balogun he's still a decent player and can add something to the squad.

Don’t mind it if he’s on very low wages.

Would prefer our back ups to be low injury risk.

Otherwise you end up having to have back ups for back ups and a bloated squad.

2 starting CB, one back up and one who’s come through the youth set up should really be all we need.

Good guy. Team player. Gets the club. There are going to be changes in the squad and it remains to be seen if Davies or Goldson will still be here end of the window. Makes sense to have someone like him around. Knows he won’t play that often but safe squad player.

If still fit and able to contribute, which he has then its a no brainer. If Davies and Goldson are potentially on their way out and King might be looking for a loan then it makes sense with only Cordoba linked so far and Souttar our only other option. Potential to go and get a loan centre back from somewhere else, maybe a Harry Souttar leaves us with Cordoba, Souttar, Souttar, Balogun as center half options

He's a good player, but it's obviously all about the fitness issue.

I guess we're taking a gamble on the cheap option so as to spend cash elsewhere. Hasn't always worked out for us, that approach.

If Clement sorts out the fitness issue next season for the entire squad then there's no problem.

If that’s our options for next season I might have a mental breakdown before a ball is kicked
