Bbc reporting talks 'at an advanced stage'

They will look stupid if they don't get him. Not for the first time this season.

Even if they get him keane has already said transfer kitty not big enough.

I think it would be a Warburton type appointment - nice passing but not winning enough.

Where did Keane say that mate?

Keep hearing about “due diligence” and both sides (Howe and the scum) doing their homework on the other.

Now, five minutes of googling that club will tell you they ran an organised, industrial scale paedophile ring, covered it up for decades and still disrespect the surviving victims.

Forget football.

Just ask yourself “do I want to associate myself with a club with more convicted perverts than the rest of Scotland combined?”

If he takes the job, he is doing so in one of two possible scenarios.

First option is that he has seen the catalogue of atrocities committed and concealed yet is happily placing himself in the same gutter by overlooking it and, effectively endorsing their sick history.

Or, alternately, he is unaware of their past, in which case, he is shite at due diligence, research or preparation.

There is no good option.

His due diligence will likely amount to finding out where Glasgow is on the map .

If we win next season 56 and get into the CL, it'll be massive.

If we get into the CL in late Summer then even more amazing 👍

No qualifiers to play will be massive for the players ,that’s 6 less games before the end of august .

Eddie Howe could go either way if appointed.  Will be a little surprised if the mhanks actually do get him, predominately because he is not an Irish RC; which largely seems to be their default position.  Never mind the fact he will cost a few quid in wages.

Howe is a better choice than Keane. He actually has recent management experience if only at a low level. If given time he could do a decent job for them. However time is something he will not get. First dropped points and the demands for his head will begin.

Just hope he gets a cast iron contract at big wages so it will cost them a fortune to pay him off as that is how I see this episode ending. If, and I still think it's a big if, he actually signs for them.

Don't much care either way. It's all about what we do.

Mcgowan at the Mail saying they are keeping Kennedy and Strachan as part of Howes backroom staff and he wants to bring his own DOF

They will explain that away as keeping some continuity and knowledge of the Scottish game whereas its probably more theybcant afford to pay them off and hire Howe's choices on high salaries.

They need to sell St's without that they are in huge trouble.

This is just a ST selling stunt, Howie has to build them from the ground up with fuck all money... Thats mission impossible.

Our team which is a level they won't get to took 3 years to assemble.. He has a few months.

Bask in the fenian failure and this tramp being sent up the road with a tears and a bloody nose.

We won't be caught

The whole point of a DOF is that he picks the manager/head coach not the other way around.

it’s just an odd scenario all around.

Let's be honest, if Howe takes the job, it's a good signing for them. Plus, he has options, so would have to have been promised a fair wedge to build the team he wants.

Every Manager's a gamble, and TBH Howe would be less of a gamble than Gerrard was.

It'll also get the Declan's back on side and buy Season tickets and merch.

No one will know how this is going to play out until the season starts, if he doesn't get them in the CL, he's off to a real bad start already.

I'd have much rather it was Keane, but as long as we keep doing what we're doing, and qualifying for the CL is vital, we welcome the chase!

Can’t disagree with any of that.  He will be up against it from the off and he must know that.
