We either have players who have an engine (Kamara or Lowry) or are aggressive (Lundstram, Jack or Arfield) but not both. Tillman can’t play in central midfield as he doesnt have an engine or aggressive. He is stuck as ACM behind striker. Lowry also is ACM only. Arguably Hagi too although he did ok wide right. If Lawrence is fit I’d put him outside left of a 3 behind a striker. Tillman/Lowry can play in behind and Kent can play outside right swapping with Sakala. Raskin and Cantwell would be CMs for me. I was struggling for examples but you make my point. We’re need players in CM who can run for days and cover space and press. We really only have Kamara that is close to that. We lack players in key roles and have lots of players for one role. Edit i think because our one good players in recent years, Kent, has made us play with’ wingers’ but I think we need 3 players narrow behind the striker in the mould of Tillman or Cantwell or Hagi instead of Kent.
