Cantwell and Raskin

If Beale wants to play the style he's alluded to when he came in he needs more players like them.

Too many of our team are stuck in their old ways, sideways passing with no movement off the ball/creating space. They seem to struggle with the concept we now have two players that want to pass and move, so can't read their runs, and aren't on their wavelength.

Raskin is probably 2 weeks behind Cantwell in match fitness/sharpness and it did show abit today, but could still see the way Raskin wanted to play. Cantwell was non stop whole game, and grafted his arse off. For a slight built player he isn't too scared to try get stuck in, and some of his one touch pass and move was quality today.

Thought that was Cantwells best game for us.

Raskin did lots of good but was too sloppy at times and appeared to tired quite badly.

Raskin definitely needs to get his fitness levels up - looked knackered in the second half - but played well in the first. Definitely Cantwell’s best game.

Could see Raskin getting visibly frustrated with the shite around him and lack of intelligent movement up front. Cantwell looked as full of running at the end as he had at the start, unlike some of the plodders we have strolling around the park. In an ideal world these two would be the only players from today's starting lineup in our first choice 11 for next season, unfortunately there's zero chance of that being the case.

And throw in Tillman and you have the beginnings of a good team. I'm not buying into the theory it's Tillman OR Cantwell. Play them both and make it work.

Raskin in the middle and them two either side. No need to have a Jack, Lundstram or Kamara sitting in the middle of Goldson and Davies passing sideways.

Liked seeing him moan like fuck at the front 3 for their movement.

Hopefully they’ll start to play through teams instead of the predictable push it out wide and cross into the box shite

That's a style we need to try and get out of or not use as much. I think Yilmaz might help with that if he replaces Barisic, and might be more a link up, quick one twos type of player that comes inside a wee bit more.

As for Tav, really has to up his game. Seen Cantwell high up looking for one twos off him, and he can't read them at all.

It’s baffling to me that despite watching that game today people still think Raskin shouldve started last weekend. He looks a cracking player but he’s miles off the pace and that was evident today.

Similar thought crossed my mind re last week.

But imo he should've started and played until he tired. He's in our best 11 even though he looks nowhere near match fit.

What? First 45 minutes was the best we've seen from a central midfielder in some time. Obviously faded and was man marked in the 2nd but still miles ahead of Lundstram and certainly Kamara.
