Whilst its never nice to lose your best players we have to get better at moving players on when their value is highest and reinvest to strengthen the overall team. At 31 £15m cant be sniffed at. Just a shame he wasnt called up to England squad as we probably could have added another few £m to that figure. It also shows to top players who have perhaps fallen out of favour we offer a good springboard to relaunch their careers so could lead to similar deals in the future.
