Cummings Potential £1million deal

Recommended Posts

Rangers MUST SIGN CUMMINGS THIS SUMMER

Rangers’ business in the January transfer market has been a mixed bag, with some standout successes and other disappointing flops.

It is probably fair to say that the acquisition of Jason Cummings can be rated somewhere between the two, with the striker impressing in some ways but flopping in others.

The Light Blues have a big decision to make on Cummings this summer, with his short-term loan from Nottingham Forest set to come to an end.

According to the Daily Record, Rangers have the opportunity to make Cummings’ loan deal permanent this summer, with Forest looking for £1million for the 22-year-old.

And, if this figure is true, then Mark Allen and the Rangers hierarchy must take up the option to secure the striker permanently this summer.

Cummings has shown during his short time at Rangers that he has what it takes to lead the line for the club in the future, and he must be given that chance next season.

As stated in the same report, Rangers are set to cash in on fellow striker Alfredo Morelos should another big-money bid come in for the Colombian.

As long as Morelos keeps up his goalscoring streak between now and the end of the season, the likelihood of that bid arriving remains high.

Cummings’ failure to make a massive impact at Ibrox so far has simply been down to the presence of Morelos, who has been in scintillating form all season.

The Colombian is quite clearly Graeme Murty’s number one choice up front, and there is not much that Cummings will have been able to do about that.

However, with Morelos likely to be gone this summer, Rangers must take a £1million shot and give the Cummings chance to step into his boots.

The Scotland international is still just 22 years old, and his record of five goals in 12 appearances for the Gers so far shows that he can be the man to spearhead their title charge next season.

£1million is a small price to pay, especially if the club are flush with money from selling Morelos, and a swoop for Cummings is a no-brainer.

Would you like our team to sign Cummings?

I would like to see him at playing for the teddy bears:thumbup:

Only going to comment on the prospect of signing him not the content of that article from that shit rhag.

I said he’d score goals for us but it’s clear he won’t as a lone striker or out wide.

If we are getting a manager in that’s going to play 2 up top (at least some of the time or even knows of a formation with 2 up top) then fine. If we are going for FdB he’ll play 4-3-3 and again I think Cummings won’t be a good fit for our setup.

From the training pictures and pre-match footage etc. He seems to have fit in well with the squad and I believe he is an excellent finisher if he actually gets chances in the box.

Would Moult not be the same or less? Would rather him over cummings

Moult and Cummings as a front 2 or Morelos as the lone striker. Two very different front lines and gives us plenty of options......options that murty wouldn’t take anyway so not much point in debating it until a new manager is announced.

No from me. Not in our current system anyway

We surely cannot continue with the system we had adapted? He is a proven goal scorer and we should be building a system to get the ball into the box more and a lot faster than we do at the moment. This trying to walk the ball into the box is far too easy to defend against.
