*****Rangers v RB Leipzig Match Thread*****

Really hoping the high 5s at the end of last week's game show that they think it's a done deal. I want us at their throats from minute one, but they're great at retaining possession. The fans are going to be crucial at knocking them off their stride early on.

I'd consider going 3 at the back with Tav/Barasic playing as wingbacks and bombing forward, that's what they do anyway but will still give us cover through the center.  Their players are fast and can hurt us on the counter if we leave ourselves exposed.  Obviously all down to personnel we have available.

                      McGregor

        Goldson Balagun Bassey

Tav                                               Barisic

         Jack                 Lundstrum

Aribo/Sakala.                          Kent
                         Roofe

Or

Tav   Goldson  Balagun   Bassey

           Jack   Lundstrum

Aribo     Davis/Ramsey       Kent

              Roofe/Sakala

I can see this going to extra time so I wouldn't start either Roofe or Ramsey. We did ok yesterday without them, and I dont see either of them lasting the 120 after an injury so I would bring them on around 60/65 mins.

Still time to influence the game, and we'd have them for the ET and pens.

It could be over by then. Start the strongest team.

I kind of agree. The problem with Roofe is it takes him ages to get back up to speed. I think I would lean toward the mercurial Sakala.

Whoever it is, we need goals.

It has to be Sakala through the middle of Roofe doesn’t make it .

Thursday was poor .For me it was the lack of striker that was the blame .It’s not just goals a striker provides .Their movement allows the team to attack a lot better than if we have a midfielder like Aribo there .

Yesterday showed that ,Sakalas run after he laid off to Kent was as much part of the goal as the finish .

Leipzig are playing tonight and going full strength as they are determined to get a Champions League spot through the league.

Hopefully that will play into our favour with an extra days rest and not having to travel.

Might watch this. Hopefully they concede straight away and chase the game for 90 mins.

Monumental game for the players to nail a place in the history of the club, hope they can embrace it and enjoy the game as that will help to deliver the performance and result required as RBL are a good team.

Proud of them no matter the outcome but feel we can do this.
