Scott Wright verdict?

Fine as a squad player but playing a bigger role than he should be atm.

Quickly seems to be becoming to Gio what players like Namouchi were to McLeish & McCulloch was to Smith in the sense where they are loyal to them because they value their contribution but it leaves the punters in the stands scratching their heads a little bit

Harsh on McCulloch comparing him to Namouchi

As mentioned on another thread... Wright may have been signed and in the squad due to the Homegrown player rule.

We need to have 4 players in the Euro squad that were developed from within the club and another 4 that were developed in Scotland.

Wright should be back for injuries as he is not good enough to come off the bench and make the difference in Europe as he has shown on repeated occasions. He is just above average for Scotland but below average for Europe.

He is currently 100% our best option at RW - Doesn’t say much about the competition for that spot in our squad….

But still not good enough. We are going into a Champions League campaign with these guys. It’s ridiculous.
Edit: I’m talking about Wright and Matondo.

Totally agree - I’d also add Sakala into the conversation aswell.

3 guys playing CL and not one of them meets the standard

We played Jordan McMillan, Kirk Broadfoot, Darren Cole, Kyle Hutton and Ricky Foster at various points in our last Champions League campaign.

We can't start buying certain quality level of players because we can't afford their wages. The squad has enough in it to be competitive at this level and target either second or third in the group.

Ricky Foster’s miss vs Valencia. :megaanguish:
