Popular Post graeme_4 37,454
Probably low(er) down the list of massive issues we have as a club, and probably as a team - but he’s been on a horrible run of form recently. Loads of ‘should do better’ ones, along with a couple of howlers, and his distribution / command of his box seems to have disappeared too. I understand no one is likely to be on the level of guys I grew up watching (Goram, Klos, McGregor etc) but his form is absolutely nose diving. Should have kept out the first goal on Tues and nearly gifted them another with horrible distribution. nik2402, SeparateEntityMyArse, HG5 and 3 others

Maybe something to think about but I'm not overly concerned at the moment. Cause he has still made some cracking saves this season.
NeoGeo7 11,263
He’s also made a couple of very good saves in the games so far, so I’m not really worrying too much about this just now more so the defenders in front of him being Tav, Souttar, Propper and Ridvan/Jefte/Davies BlueJacketRFC and demise
plymouthranger 4,226
Lol, if we were a competently run club, this might register (and I’d argue selling Butland this window/next would be good business). But currently we’re starting games with Scott Wright, Tom Lawrence, Souttar, Tav, Dessers, McAusland (who I like). We seemingly have no fit back up strikers, no fit wingers, nobody as backup if either of our CMs get injured, no backup CAM, no backup fullbacks, whilst still being massively over our wage budget with no money to bring on players. We’ve got much bigger issues… J-Maestro and Amato
SPWF 8,916
When we’re being overran in midfield and then exposed by a poor right side of defensive it’s not surprising he’s conceding a few tbh. Jack Butland is the very bottom of the list of any worries we have. J-Maestro, rbt1548, RockwellGers and 1 other
ZZed 4,558
I think he is a good keeper but that is all. His form has dipped but is he second guessing what our defenders will do as he has little confidence in them and it is effecting his performances? SkylineBlue 25,692
A non-existent midfield and utterly garbage defence won't be helping, but we should be actively trying to sell him whilst he still has some value. beararse and MacBoyd
Madina 4,239
I wouldn't be adverse to selling him and getting a few million in. We're not going to win the league so Kelly would be competent enough to see out the season as we finish 2nd Dan Deacon
delparlane 5,986
The man will be needing serious therapy because of that defence in front of him. Surprised he hasn’t hung himself from the crossbar by now. OhW and Hadron Collider 1

I think he was a bit unsighted and the fact that the twat Lawrence jumps up instead of trying to block the shot played into it imo. rbt1548, VERITAS VOS LIBREBETS and Albertz85
esquire8 45,127
It's the least of the lowest problems. The back four in front of him are all over the place.
Popular Post McEwan's Lager 32,027
Yes it is. Since March he’s not been putting in performances you’d expect of a keeper of Rangers standards. psb07158, Amato, kelvd1873 and 8 others 10
PromDeAnglais 6,725
Doesn't help that he has a shambles in defence in front of him but yes, his form since he didn't get in the England squad last season has tumbled.
bluenoz 32,398
Balls hit low to his left side appear to be a weakness. Even on Propper's own goal, I thought he could have reacted a split second faster. Also, the ball at his feet is not the greatest. Perhaps I'm looking for something because I don't think we could replace him with a better option. King Jela 21,591
Glad someone else made a thread about it. I rubbished the notion at the time, but he hasn't been the same since being snubbed by England. psb07158
.Williamson. 87,159
He’s in a bad patch of form but it can’t be ideal that opponents are literally walking through our defence every game BlueAvenger, delparlane, J-Maestro and 1 other

superallysbears 8,189
He's a good keeper but his kicking could be much better, if a 10 million bid came in I'd be taking it without question.
GA1972 10,309
Hasn’t been the same since March but still doesn’t even register on our list of problems If someone did put a high bid in for him we should be selling, it’s more important domestically for us to have better outfield players than a great keeper
OrangeRab 3,382
Not worried about him. Quality GK. We maybe had a chance end of last season to shop him around when his stock was high and raise some much needed cash to invest elsewhere. We tend to do the opposite. Sell low, buy high. lau03143

AGM_72 4,051
Would seriously consider moving him on if we got a substantial bid. Suspect he might go in a year anyway Tbh - and not for the type of fee we'd get right now. Take into account he was seeking assurances from the board, and that we seem on course for all timer of a shite season, I could see him heading off to the championship or abroad. That's without mentioning that he has had a dip in form since march. OrangeRab
Swagger 8,923
Can’t be easy keeping your concentration with the utter shit show that’s going on in front of you. saintbob1969 1,560
I was thinking maybe a large part of the problem is the way supporters get on players and managers backs so quickly. Clement and Tavernier having gone from honeymoon to clueless disasters, and now Butland... Sure we have some major inconsistencies and players who seem injury prone but hey, easier to have an injury than to keep fighting for a support who abuse you! A quality keeper like Butland is a major asset for any competitive team.
