Popular Post LegendofCoop 17,359
Finally, we have it, right? Plan A was getting us nowhere fast by the end of the first half. Finally, we seem to have a manager that actually has a plan B which can change things in our favour. We were immense that second half. theblueoysterbar, Perth_Campsie_Ger, shaka and 11 others
Goofy The Scot 586
Totally agree - said the same in the game thread, it's great to have a manager who isn't afraid to switch formation and personnel when plan A isn't working. Gio's taken some stick recently here (myself included), he deserves a lot of plaudits tonight though. surfsup2, SteveEarle and Ayrshire Blue
Popular Post NitshillBear 1,459
I think you'll find Gio just said it was actually Plan C 😂 LegendofCoop, ice, SuperTav and 12 others
Malkytfp1 18,600
He just said in his interview that was plan c 🤣 He's no scared to make a change. Even on Sunday taking off a defender for am attacker. Ye love to see it. LegendofCoop
delranger 39
If we hadn’t changed we would now be sitting here rueing our chance. Plan c was a masterstroke by Gio, one I doubt Gerrard would have made. Roy Hobbs and My Fathers Scarf
the old guard 2,323
Playing Lundstrom deeper in the second half was a masterstroke. Allowed Tav and bassey to bomb.
stuart1994 4,303
Miles ahead tactically than Gerrard, still think we’ll win the league. What a fucking night. My Fathers Scarf and Negri's lovechild

Prso's headband 35,509
It’s great to see how flexible Gio is tactically. I really hope he can drive us on to the title now. This team deserves to be CL players next season, they’ve done it all themselves SteveEarle and AlbertzLoyalRSC
bluenoz 30,909
When we went to a back 5, I thought it would be a very long 45 minutes but it worked to perfection. They didn't score in the second half and no one was saying that at Half-time.
LegendofCoop 17,359
You know what else I loved about tonight. After the final whistle, all the staff/squad players.....even the likes of Ofobrh were pitch side to get sample the atmosphere. What an incredible night! aird 3,777
Would be interesting to see how that formation could work in the league. Playing 5 at the back isn't needed in the league but if it allows us to get the best out of Tav and Bassey/Barisic then I'm all for it.
McEwan's Lager 30,545
I love the fact he’s not scared to change it. So refreshing. Was also down the touch line Walteresque tonight barking at players and pointing at them where he wanted them positionally. .Williamson. and The Beast

NI 903
We could've collapsed in the end of the first half, half time was welcomed and the lads have been immense in the second half, brave, we can be proud of them. BlueAvenger
Willis 20,919
If we play the same way against upcoming opposition then plan A will do. Why are folk acting like we didn't just beat one of the best teams in the world?
ayro 3,011
Some balls to change the formation at HT, worked out brilliantly.
Graham 3,465
The frustration at no plan B tended to be when we struggled to break teams down (arguably we done that v dundee utd on Sunday but just lacked the finishing touch). Slightly different here, but speaks for GVBs ability to change it up effectively.

Aye you can't really complain too much with a calm head after Sundays result, disappointing obviously but he made positive changes which is more than what can be said under previous managers. We would've lost that game under SG

We would've lost that game under SG You only need to compare to our first trip there. We looked lost and that we wouldnt score if we played for another 90. Sunday was one of those games you get a few of a season - at a bastard of a timing.
