GvB still had game time to save his job at that stage. If he had won at St Johnstone and St Mirren we wouldn't be having this discussion. He would still be in the hotseat. Beale came as a spectator, that's all.

English basically said anyone with any sense would ask about budget and ambition, and Thomson said if you’re bothered about budgets then you shouldn’t be in the conversation for the next manager.

Walter believed that his club needed him  and had been told previously that he had a lot of hurt with how his leaving the first time was handled by both him and Murray. 
 

he knew he could help and wanted to make amends which in typical Walter fashion he did. English is correct managers should want to know budgets etc, Walter was Walter he was an exception not the norm

A team of Gerrard and Beale combined was hardly an overwhelming success.

Hard to see how Beale alone would be any better (especially without the world class staff behind him) unless Gerrard was holding him back?

If Beale is the boards choice then I think this gives an indication that they want to work with the squad they have so wan't someone in that is familiar with them.

Another huge worry about Beale would be that as he obviously gets on well with the existing players there's a decent chance he might want to hand out new contracts to a number of players who we quite clearly need to get rid and it could further hinder our ability to refresh the squad in the future.

The next manager, whoever it is, needs a completely fresh approach so that we can properly rebuild the squad and bin a lot of the current players who very much deserve the same fate as Gio, if not more.

If appointed we have no option but to hope it works for us, but I am not confident about that.

The only positive I can see from appointing Beale is that hopefully the fitness levels of the players will improve to that of a year ago because at the moment they just look tired and lethargic.

I feel like I’m trying to talk myself into being OK with Beale.

Didn’t really fancy Dyche, but got myself mentally on Board with it after doing a bit of digging on him.

Trying the same with Beale, but it just isn’t there.

- Bit of an odd ego / personality

- Part of a Gerrard team that struggled for long spells

- Very inexperienced as a manager

- Not doing so well with QPR now 

- Too many pre-existing relationship when we need a full clear out over the next two windows

This place is some laugh. In about 12 hours we’ve went from a 50/1 stick on to its now definitely Beale so everycunt shut up. Any further stabs in the dark or we sticking with Beale for today?
