Qualifying for the Europa knockouts, starting with beating Sparta this week, then needs to win the League Cup final, whilst maintaining or improving this league deficit going into the New Year's Old Firm game away from home and then getting in a couple players in January that will allow us to kick on with the additional quality we need to become the team we should be again. He's only a few away from disaster as all managers are here. Sparta, Cup Final, NY Old Firm are the 3 big games, and he needs to keep consistency in all the others. Other than Real Betis away, he can't really afford to lose anything. Think he's had a great start though. Wins the cup and gets us through the groups that's some going. League wise I think it's too far gone and we still badly need some new faces. There’s just a lot more invention and bravery in the team. everyone wanted to play it safe, he’s now actively wanting them to take risks and for our midfield to get in behind our forwards. I’m really encouraged by what I’ve seen and I can’t wait for him to add what he believes is needed. He's a proper manager who can influence games from the bench and has that air of authority, God knows last time we had that. A telling tale of Beales last few months ,No penalties ,We weren’t putting enough pressure on teams to create good chances or force mistakes to give away fouls in the box .We made it too easy for opponents. Just hope Cantwell’s one of the players he helps make better and makes him a focal point for the team - it’s not really looking like that’s how he sees him so far e.g. the rotating with Wright comments, persisting with Lammers centrally.
