Surprised by that, Souttar seems comfortable on either side so I guess that helps. We probably need a left sided CB to replace Helander or keep the big man

Why? We've had plenty of centre half pairings that are both right footed.

Bassey and Helander are the only two naturally left sided options.

For me Helander should be moved on if possible as he's into his final year and there's no way we could contemplate extending due to his injury record

Goldson has nailed the right hand spot and Balogun, Katic and King have played left as a result. I expect the same to be the case with Souttar

I very much doubt Balogun is here next season, we were clearly holding out on his contract talks until there was an outcome to the Goldson renewal.

Let Balogun go and either keep Helander or sell and replace, leaves us with a pretty solid CB choice of Goldson, Souttar, Katic, Helander/replacement and King.

The only issue with the above, is for the RCB it only gives us Goldson and King (I think?), as Helander, Katic and Souttar are all left footed (although Souttar seems comfortable on both).

Have you ever seen Katic play?

Gives you everything Goldson doesn’t. If a Gio has a left sided ball playing Dutch centre half in mind to go alongside him we could be on onto a winner.

centre half and dutchmen brings a cold feeling since big Bert had the job.

Not up against much tonight but the potential in this lad is frightening. Timing in the tackle was immense and has that turn of pace if he gets caught out. Very good on the ball and stepping out into midfield with ease.

Indeed.

Really hope he stays injury free & this one works out for all parties.
