Hard to believe it’s been a year already since we lost the man who in my eyes is and probably always will be The Greatest Ranger of them all. He is, was and always will be “Simply The Best” 🔴⚪️🔵

It’s hard to put into words just what he means to me, as he does to all of you.

He was the embodiment of Rangers Football Club and so much more. A genuine role model growing up.

I can’t believe it’s been a year. Can’t think of a more fitting man to be immortalised in bronze outside the ground. Mr Rangers.

I have no doubts it wasn’t, but he made managing us look easy, and that says it all about how much he just got it.

Same any crisis on the park "get Walter back he will sort it" Now down to Gio and anyone else after to follow his example do that we will be good. A great man and a massive loss to our football club

Fitting news. Forever engrained in the DNA of our club. The very least we could do getting a statue made.

I’m 29 so most will probably become perplexed when I say this is one of my strongest memories of him  

I can’t fully explain why, but I still remember getting chills when I saw him march out on the touchline that day after the goal. It wasn’t even when the camera zoomed on him raising his fist to the dugout in celebration, it was the few seconds after when he throws the water bottle to a player on the pitch then immediately resets, and visibly refocuses himself on the task at hand. You can even see Novo and Ally completely captured by the energy of moment, but Walter has already regained composure.

Rangers were down to 9 men in a Cup final, and yet it seemed in that moment that it was Rangers who had the man advantage.

That man of course being the great Walter Smith, the quintessential leader.

We miss you every day Mr Smith.

Still find it difficult to understand that he isn't with us anymore. His legacy will live on forever though and all the memories and trophies he gave us fans. He was Mr Rangers and he was simply the best 💙

Plenty deserve the hall of fame, however very few of them will ever get a statue.

Walter Smith is an absolute no brainer in that regard.

Still miss his presence around the club. Him being around.....even an appearance on RTV, made everything feel ok!

My first ever cup final. It summed up the gaffer as a man, our never say die attitude that day. Makes me smile seeing Walters reaction when Miller scored.
