However, another interesting thing is showing how Barisic has performed & it's nowhere here as bad as folk make out.

Tav's definitely a "modern" fullback (i.e. attack minded).  When he's on his game he can be pivotal in helping us control the tempo and create chances.

You always feel he's got the odd defensive clanger up his sleeve, but the pros outweigh the cons.

This shows you how the narrative of a players status and ability can be tangibly manipulated by pundits and the MSM. Stats don’t lie but when the constant conversation is about how great a player is that’s what people actually start to believe. I’m willing to give Barasic another season, it does take time for some foreigners to get used to British football, he is a Croatian international footballer after all.   But he’s another player who needs to work on his defending especially positioning, cost us a few goals last season, hopefully Gerrard can get Tav and him together and work on their defending, Tav could actually play for a top ten premier league side easily if he could defend properly.

I actually like the guy but Barisic will have better looking stats because he's played far less, right? I may be wrong on that one though, not sure. I feel as if he'd look a lot better if he had a partner on the left that covered him when he roams forward the way Candeias does with Tav. He needs more time to show whether he's good enough or not, I'd give him until January to prove it.

Barisic is a full Croatian International and their starting left back. An up and down first season in Scotland but still getting picked for the national team ahead of the rest of the pack.

Should be the starting left back this season, especially in the early games.

Barisic did look good when he first signed but then missed a lot of time due to injury.  He has a good delivery on him and can be a threat from set-pieces.

That's not entirely true though is it?, Ryan Kent is a hard worker and gets back and and covers for his LBs I don't know how many times I saw him back defending and covering in the last 3rd last season.

Barisic has made the left back position for Croatia his own.  I can forgive him his first season. No doubt we could recoup the money spent on him but I would give until January to show what he can do.

There's no doubt he's a good player but he is a bit of a shitebag . I think with a bit of work from him and some good game management we will start to see the player we all expected when he signed last summer.

I feel Barisic needs a proper pre-season with us. He undoubtedly has quality but was injured to often, struggled to get going and looked off the pace and lacking in attitude. I hope he is able to show us what he can do this year.
