Didn't know football had adopted the residency rule? Good move if it is true.

What is the rule exactly?

Rugby - resident for three of the last five years.

Cycling, rowing and others - resident for previous three years.

No he will never be eligible. The Home Nations have a 5 years of education in the country rule to stop that sort of thing happening.

Unless he was at school in Scotland for 5 years prior to 18 he wont get in.

The residencey rule has been used in lots of countries. Marcos Senna with Spain is one. 

The home nations don't use it though. There was talk of Almunia playing for England years ago and Novo for Scotland 😂
