He’s an established Premier League player in the peak of his career and he hasn’t cost us a penny in transfer fees. Why wouldn’t people get excited or be optimistic about that?

Where to even start with that? Seriously? Different managers sign different players with different abilities but because they come from the same club, what happened with one will happen with the other?

Barton underestimated the league and also didn’t suit Warburtons style of play. Arfield knows the league inside out and played out his skin for Falkirk, he’s had a decent career in England as well. He’s either shagged your missus or you’re at the wind up.

I'd hoped we would sign him when he left Falkirk but I can't remember if our interest in him was genuine at the time or just newspaper nonsense.

Didn't see much of him last season but he was OK in Burnley's first season back up and superb in their unbeaten run in the championship in 15/16. He does like a good press. Will harass defenders for fun up here.

Mark Allen seems to have a thing for midfielders. 

I think Centre Backs will be on the radar.

But we have been so poor in midfield, weak, and we invite teams, and needless pressure is on our defenders. 

This is a positive signing and you will probably get your wish at some point.
