The true baller 972
I think (hope) he will be pretty open to changing some things. Not just in terms of personnel but formation/style, I can't say I kept up with his management stints elsewhere but would be curious to know about this side of him. I realize he must be a good enough manager to do what he did in Holland so surely he has to see what we're all seeing? Hopefully he can see it now and fix it whilst they bastards are easily catchable. Starting Sunday.
Brian Fantana 28,894
Let me guess, he should play youth players to change things..... We have nothing worth changing, a pish squad and half of them look disinterested. Johnstone Burgh

Its worrying as his brand of football is sussed out.. it will lead to dropped points. We need to overrun teams. THAT works. southcoastbear 1,639
In terms of playing his 4,3,3 system I would say he will be extremely stubborn.
NeoGeo7 11,263
Sorry but a 4-3-3 if your players are up for it will be better than a 4-4-2 or 5-3-or any other formation if the players are not up for it. Individual errors and a lackadaisical approach to the game from the players will lead to dropped points, not the tactics. If Gio can’t motivate players and won’t drop them even when its clear they won’t be motivated then that’s Gio’s failing. bluenoz 32,412
When he applied for the job, he would have sold the board on his football philosophies. That isn't going to change because of a dip in form. All managers are stubborn. Gerrard was stubborn. "do I look happy, don't ask me silly questions." Laudrupsleftfoot 12,215
It's not just about what formation the team sets up in on paper. It's about patterns and phases of play, how to work the ball and create overloads, what shape to be in when out of possession and a multitude of other things that we just seem bereft of right now. The players are playing like individuals because there is no coherent style or strategy. AGM_72, baxters11 and johanhentze

demise 3,715
Well, if he doesnt find the proper way to motivate players and if he keeps doing what he is doing right now, he will be fired come end of the season. So its up to him to keep the job and win trophies. Be a champion or be stubborn. Its an easy one, isnt it?
The Ibrox Derry 9,221
If he is successful and brings us titles and trophies, he can be as stubborn as a mule if he wants. Popular Post Real Ranger 3,215
When Gio came in I wasn’t getting carried away after looking at his managerial career so far. After few good games many were shouting about how much of an improvement he is on Gerrard but now after a few bad results apparently he’s clueless. For me we should reserve judgment to the end of the season, if he succeeds then brilliant and if he’s a failure then we should start looking for a replacement. Popular Post Scottywellhousetb 52,365
So let me get this totally correct in my head, Gerrard is afforded years of nothing and allowed to carry on with no connection to the club, Gio is arguably a Rangers man but is afforded fuck all because of 1 shitshow despite a fairly decent start inheriting someone else's squad, thread after thread of criticism, I'm disgusted with this forum right now, no surrender unless we are up against it.
