I think his timing is a bit off sometimes - that miss is a good example, he went slightly too early and so the ball clipped off his heel.

That's probably due to a lack of composure, sometimes he just needs to calm down a bit. Thankfully that's something that can be fixed with experience and training.

I’ve noticed that as well. I can’t remember if it was the St Mirren game or maybe one of the Euro ties either side of it but he missed a sitter and when you saw the replay the ball seemed to hit off his heel. After that I’ve started to notice that when he gets these open goal opportunities he doesn’t seem to want to break his stride so that he can hit it cleanly. Instead it looks like he’s just looking for the ball to hit off his foot as he runs - if that makes sense.

Come on to fuck, he does run about a lot though and that's what makes him the world class striker he is

not!

What's funny is the fact last season Tav was crap and should be punted, along with your shift in hard on for king, you have also moved onto Morelos instead of Tav, in fact you were rating Tav very highly not long ago.

his movement to get in to goal scoring opportunities is second to none man. surely there is a couch out there that's a predator in the box that could work with him and get it to fucking click.

if only ally hadn't cunted it.

hurry up n retire boydy?

Couch ?

Wow

first and last cap me thinks

he is a decent player, but constantly gives fouls away, gets caught offside, misses sitters and goes in wee huffy strops.

He really isn’t as good as many of us want him or believe him to be.

This, unfortunately.

Morelos is still developing as a player but the potential is clearly there.

As long as he keeps learning and improving. Although i do question the wisdom of giving him another wage rise, surely that should of been done at the end of this season, if his performances merit it?

I think it was more to do with a potential transfer fee.

If he scores a decent amount of goals between now and January and a low end EPL team is in danger of the drop I could see them making a bid for him, it’s funny money down there and panic buys in January are pretty common. Him being signed up until 2022 puts us in a strong negotiating position.

We were already in a strong negotiating position, having him tied up on a long term contract.

He will go to England first chance he gets, we just need to ensure the best fee for us.

Getting his debut last night helps, as from now he will be ‘Alfredo Morelos Colombian internationalist’

Hopefully being involved in the Columbia set up will give him a bit more maturity as his attitude at the moment stinks.

The argument may be that if we demand a big fee, but his wages are comparatively low in relation to other players that go for a similar amount, the buying  club will argue that he isn't worth what we are asking.

I.e "you don't pay him like a £10m player so we you can't really think he's worth that. Heres £5m take it or leave it."

This is an experimental squad. That sort of miss puts you out of contention for future squads and potentially fucks us out of a lot of sell on value.

Iwelumo won 3 more caps for Scotland despite being an elderly jobber and missing a golden chance to win a vital qualifier on his debut.

A wildly optimistic/plainly wrong assessment. I think the writer has genuinely confused Morelos with the boy who put the cross in for the last goal ?

Alfredo Morelos assists goal on Colombia debut - watch here

8th September 2018

Cameron Willis

Alfredo Morelos is now a full international and started his Colombia career brightly with an assist.

The 22-year-old striker came on in the second half to much excitement and the young goalscorer did his reputation no harm.

Hardworking Morelos created the goal

The striker capped his first ever appearance by setting up Colombia’s second goal in a 2-1 victory over Venezuela.

The striker worked his way into the right of the 18-yard-box and dinked a dangerous ball into the six-yard box. It was poorly cleared by two separate headers before Yimmi Chara pounced and won the game.

It was a last-minute winner and a goal indicative of all the characteristics of the striker. Hardworking, full of technique and just a little bit of luck.

The game was played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida and Colombia roared back from an early Venezuela goal. Darwin Marchis had Venezuela ahead after 4 minutes before Falcao equalised 10 minutes into the second half. Chara then of course completed the scoring after good work from Morelos.

Morelos has been rubbing shoulders with some of the best strikers in the game this last week. Falcao, Carlos Bacca and Luis Muriel are all dynamic, exciting options up front who each bring something unique to the game.

Morelos can soak up all of this experience and education and bring it back to Ibrox.

More than that, becoming a full international only adds extra digits to his value.

The Colombian has been routinely linked with a move away from Ibrox. If anyone comes in for him now, they’ll be coming in for a young Colombian with a bright future.

Alfredo Morelos’ star continues to rise and his performance in the Sunshine State will have done him no harm.
